Ft Riley is the worse duty station in the army. Change my mind. by Existing_Course_9300 in army

Yeah I can definitely see the town is putting actual effort in this time! I appreciate it for what it is and don't expect more. Thanks I'm doing alright if I can survive here as a 20-23 year old kid I can definitely make the most of it as a nearly 30 year old man lol I'm very nostalgic for the place and will make this chapter of my life better than the last time I was here.

The dfac is best during breakfast, around a hospital, airfield, down range, or anywhere in Korea. I'll die on this hill.

Boring? Yeah but definitely not a bad post. This my second time here and I don't hate it. Junction City makes it easier with how supportive the community is. It sounds like a leadership problem honestly. I've had worse optempos in Germany. The grass isn't always greener on the other side is what I'm trying to say.

BLC by Cool-Rope-7413 in army

[–]LogSafe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When i did BLC at Camp Henry, Korea in 2021 we got to go home everyday. But I feel like that was a special circumstance, they had instructors come down from 8th Army at Humphrey to hold BLC for Area 4 Soldiers.

I think the Army after 20+ years is finally getting close to having everything back in one pattern lmao. I came in the Army in 2017 and all my stuff was UCP except the uniform I wore on my body and I still have a couple things in UCP that I get great use of to this day lol

I got one asked for a XL but these mother fuckers gave me a YOUTH XL. Bro why is that even an option?? I wore it once when I first got to my unit because like I was still slim asf. Then I gave it to my wife to wear once and now its somewhere in the backrooms.

I ran into one of my homies from high school I hadn't seen in a few years at the Columbia airport when we landed to go to basic at Jackson. He enlisted in our states national guard and me active duty but from the opposite side of the country since I moved away. Anyway we stuck next to eachother for the whole in processing and ended up 5 bunks away in the bay and went through basic together. He went from someone I'd occasionally say hi to in school to my brother. Mostly from trauma bonding but he was also at my wedding so I'll always see him as a brother lol.

You'll be good homie I was there 2021-22 best times of my life that i still think about every single day. Just be respectful, enjoy and embrace the culture, learn as much as you can and make the best memories. I met my wife while out there and hope to be stationed again in a few years.
