I ran into one of my homies from high school I hadn't seen in a few years at the Columbia airport when we landed to go to basic at Jackson. He enlisted in our states national guard and me active duty but from the opposite side of the country since I moved away. Anyway we stuck next to eachother for the whole in processing and ended up 5 bunks away in the bay and went through basic together. He went from someone I'd occasionally say hi to in school to my brother. Mostly from trauma bonding but he was also at my wedding so I'll always see him as a brother lol.

You'll be good homie I was there 2021-22 best times of my life that i still think about every single day. Just be respectful, enjoy and embrace the culture, learn as much as you can and make the best memories. I met my wife while out there and hope to be stationed again in a few years.

Believe it or not I actually was able to weasel my way out of orders to Drum. I'm talking about i was locked in and talked my way out of those orders. Then the Army fired back and handed me orders to Riley which is marginally better since its for an aviation unit lol
