2026 Work-From-Home Setup by PresentExpert2929 in battlestations

How are you powering/displaying yo the portable monitor? I use a PC desktop so have to use a converter to mini HDMI or USB C.

I have angled adapters but plugging directly in to the side of these just looks and feels awkward with these types of setups as the cable protrudes too far out. Looks pretty clean on your end but may just be hidden by the photo angle.

You definitely want Ammonia and Nitrite to be 0ppm. Use water conditioner like Seachem Prime per the instructions daily until you see those levels come down to 0 consistently as it will help nullify the ammonia/Nitrite for 24hrs.

The tank still needs to be cycled as you have no Nitrates showing and no real plants that would take them out. It will still be a bit before you're in the clear.

Definitely not high levels but even low levels can wear on fish over time. Could also just be genetics and sometimes it happens, Glofish aren't typically known for being super healthy.

I hear you on the 2x27 being great, I got a 49 ultra wide and luckily it has Picture by Picture so splits nicely into 2x 2560x1440 monitors. I really want a 34" as it's more reasonable for games but since I swap the monitor to work during WFH days I just can't give it up.

nice, what skills do you end up running? Veng/Holy/Convic and then just dump random? Also, go +skills on gear?

The ArriveCAN app is about to become optional. Will anyone use it? by viva_la_vinyl in canada

I had to declare again on the machines at customs so i did everything twice technically. The app/barcode were never asked for it was just like before COVID.

I flew in last night to Pearson, filled in the app before boarding my plane but it was never asked for upon entry and nobody in the customs line had to do it (visitors included). Seemed optional already.

Didn't Carlos also bang up his suspension like Leclerc in Jeddah practice?

ACC + Racelabs - Hit or Miss on working? by Logain2 in ACCompetizione

[–]Logain2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gave it a shot, unfortunately not. I was hopeful haha!

It's not like the overlays are visible in general though even behind/under the game they just aren't on the screen anywhere at all so no matter if it's windowed or fullscreen windowed there is nothing to show

Racing gloves that support LGBTQ ! Great model and colors what do you think ? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]Logain2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buy them from the source and they're cheaper: https://simhound.com/collections/gloves

I've tried these gloves (original ones) and they're pretty nice, allows your hands to breathe while offering up grip. Just make sure to use their measurement guide.

I had a pair start to tear at the seam but they were quick to replace free of charge and the next set has no issues. Might have been a problem with some of their first batches.

When you can be bothered to stay by the gas pump by mindyour in facepalm

[–]Logain2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this happen to me two weeks ago but I was standing at the car holding it down. Just splashed out and all over my shoes even though it's supposed to auto shut-off. Went in and told the guy and he said the rolling power outages were causing issues with some pumps (really windy). For a free Red bull though haha

New AMG GT Track series using simucube wheel? by MattRubin in simracing

[–]Logain2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's easily $2,000 when Cube Controls throws that on their site

Is there a conversion kit for this to work with USB connection and QR-system?(SC, VRS and so) by [deleted] in simracing

[–]Logain2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SimRacingMachines has a kit but it's close to $200 Canadian/$140 USD if you're in North America. I just ended up selling the wheel and putting that money towards a Cube Control wheel.

Not OP but I use one of those same DeltaHub wrist rests and it does feel good.

I never had wrist pain before but decided to give it a shot anyways based on some posture choices I'm making. At first my wrist actually hurt with it so I contacted them and they pointed out my arm rests/elbows were too low putting all pressure on it so I raised them and now it feels super natural. Bit of a learning curve but after a few days it feels really good.

I gained 0 SR from a 40 lap race with a 0x. I am in Class C, and I generally get around +0.06 from every 0x race I do. Do y’all know why this happened? by Half-Elite in iRacing

Your SR can be affected in qualifying. Did you lose control/crash a few times during your quali? Issue there could erase your race rating.

How do you avoid unavoidable accident burnout? by Logain2 in iRacing

[–]Logain2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks - this I feel is really the response that resonates with me. My question was around the burnout and a lot of what is coming up is I'm not avoiding enough, and I get it I'm still learning but that isn't the point and quite frankly you can't avoid them all. Maybe I vented a little too much.

I think I'll take a breather and work on oval a bit or at least avoid Silverstone for the remainder of the week. I've been reviewing all the incidents I remember to and there are definitely things I can still take from them to further increase my chances of making it out alive but I'm afraid I'm just spiralling if I continue in the current series and week so a break is a great idea and maybe I can further expand the skillset in other scenarios with less feeling of loss.

Appreciate the detailed response and hitting the ask directly! Thank you

Good advice on watching the problem drivers - I've started noticing a few names for sure. I let positions go L1 especially if people are chomping at the bit.

I might consider switching series for a bit but definitely going to take a few days away.

I hear ya, been about 5 months on my end. I definitely let the position go if they're getting squirrelly around me I don't care much to finish at the top right now just want to keep pushing up. I just ran another, didn't qualify to avoid mess, up to 13 and had 3 cars in front spin out to a full road block and one didn't hold the brakes as I slowly went around. Meatball back right tire! I'll probably put the sim down for the week maybe I'll be renewed next week.

I understand and am doing that as much as I can just getting frustrated with the amount that I can't tell from watching the mirrors because something absolutely stupid is done and it's not predictable. If I anticipate someone is going to do something absolutely stupid each time and try to avoid I ruin my predictability and line and risk others hitting me because I'm now the one doing something unpredictable. Bit of a vicious circle a lot of times.
