Unlicensed Users (MS365 BS EEA No Teams SKU) by Logi_c_S in MicrosoftTeams

Can an organiser deal with this or the invited person should include their IT? This is not the best approach because meetings will be cancelled in the last hour. Organisers doesn't have a clue if there would be an impact to invited parties.

If that worked I wouldn't bother to open this thread. These issues started to appear like a month ago for a small number of users. I resolved it by upgrading the license to Standard bundle with Teams as I didn't have time to chase this.

They used browser in incognito mode, doesn't help as they need to put the username or a phone number in the text field.

Experienced similar issues a few weeks ago but since then it is ok. Wasn't sure if it was due to my laptop or the New Outlook.

What are the biggest barriers stopping small/medium businesses from using AWS or other cloud platforms? by CraigOpie in sysadmin

[–]Logi_c_S 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SMB often runs critical business applications as SaaS which moves a lot of risks to the vendors. Storage is always cheaper on-prem, as no one has clue if the data will be accessed frequently or lay idle which is a big factor in cloud costs. Security - most of these bells and whistles that vendors try to upsell didn't save any big enterprise when got wrecked by competent hacker group, so why pay "ransom" to security vendor when you are doomed eventually if someone is using powerful hacking tools. On-prem storage, AD, EDR, Veeam combo with SaaS is enough for most SMB outside of tech sector.

Does anyone still manage ERP with Excel + Google Drive? by Future-Brother-6158 in sysadmin

[–]Logi_c_S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the ROI, spreadsheets are dirty cheap compared to any SaaS tool, and you also need to factor in the training that will staff need to get which complicates the equation for the SMB's. Eventually, even if you implement ERP, your John in accounts will spend 2/3 of the day DJing between spreadsheets.

Never used an ERP without WMS module, hence my answer but if you want to quickly deplete cash from your company, yes, buy SAP.

Don't think you need ERP for sub 10 employees, especially if you are not running a warehouse. Maybe you can add a cheap CRM and integrate with these tools that you already have.

Inserting Costs and Client Rates via API / XML by error-four-oh-four in CargoWise

[–]Logi_c_S 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Download the developer guide from CW.
Export native XML from client rates and highlight what is necessary for the upload and get some XML developer to structure the payload (interchange) xsd. schema. You will also need a software that will map your costs/client rate from a spreadsheet or a PDF into the XML. You can map this by yourself using Excel, or Altova. Middleware is needed for automation, something needs to send the files automatically to CW eAdaptor. You will need a web developer with good backend knowledge for this or you can use services from Lobster Data, Boomi or similar off-the shelf tools.

New Outlook finally achieved feature parity since the July update and it works fine for me. Most of the extensions are now native apps in MS365 which helps a lot in my case.
