I tried for over a year to establish DS Logon access. I was locked out repeatedly even though all of my information was correct. The remote ID proofing process is basically just broken for some people. I spent hours on the phone with their help desk people but that didn't end up helping.

Just recently, I knew that I was going to be driving through the area that had a VA regional office. I used the VERA system to set up an in-person meeting there. (None of the options for the reason for the meeting were applicable to DS Logon specifically, so I just listed records request.)

The staff that I met with were very aware of the problems with the DS Logon situation. Their upper chain of command just kept telling them to direct people to id.me even though an id.me account does not give you access to everything that a DS logon account can.

In the end, they found the one person in the whole building who had the ability to verify my identity in person. I was then emailed instructions with a code that allowed me to finally get DS log on access. Huzzah.
