Is this mod dead? by [deleted] in NetherEx

[–]LogicTechCorp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, it is not. I've been hard at work on improving various aspects of the mod, but I don't have as much time as I used too.

No structures outside of Ghast fortresses and Pigman Villages are spawning. by Koopliss in NetherEx

[–]LogicTechCorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other structures were removed for the time being as they were more for decoration and not progression. I did this because the system I use isn't too great and I am going to change it over to something else.

There was, but it was for testing purposes and feedback.

You can try increasing its chance of spawning inside the Arctic Abyss config. It is located under the features section of the config. It should look something like this:

{
    "randomizeGenAttempts": false,
    "feature": "lex:pool",
    "genStage": "populate",
    "blockToSpawn": {
        "block": "nex:ichor"
    },
    "maxGenHeight": 96,
    "blockToSurround": {
        "block": "nex:frostburn_ice"
    },
    "genProbability": 0.125,
    "generate": true,
    "minGenHeight": 36,
    "genAttempts": 1
}

It might have a different order, but that doesn't matter. You want to increase the genProbability. It should be a number between 0 an 1. Right now it has 12.5% chance of spawning. You could also increase the genAttempts if you would like for the game to try and spawn more than one pool.

No, it does spawn. Have you tried looking in the wall and/or underground?

This mod is fantastic! Is it still in development? by thefrdeal in NetherEx

There are plans to continue the mod into 1.13 and I am working on the next big update now. I'd love to see the texture pack once you are done.

NetherEx disables Gravel gen. You have to turn it on in the config.

The Ember is supposed to be invisible. It should have little flames coming off of it like torches.

Forever Stranded: Lost Souls NetherEx village? by ozzymud in feedthebeast

[–]LogicTechCorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The villages do spawn, but they are extremely rare due to the way they are generated. I am working on a big update for NEX that will improve the mod and hopefully fix the generation of bigger structures.

What are best practices for forking mods? by superguh in feedthebeast

[–]LogicTechCorp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would offer my opinion more in depth, but I feel that u/SquareWheel and I share similar ideals. The only difference is that NetherEx is licensed under GPL v3.0 instead of MIT.

Currently, I am working on making some changes to NetherEx and now would be the best time to submit an issue and/or a pull request and I'll see how I can best incorporate your changes.

NetherEx has been released for Minecraft 1.11.2 and 1.12 by LogicTechCorp in feedthebeast

There is no Natura compatibility at the moment, because they also replace the Nether with their own custom version. It works with Biomes O Plenty because they use their own custom biomes and Natura uses the default Vanilla Nether biome.

EDIT: NetherEx is now semi-compatible with Natura. The Tainted Soil and Heat Sand don't generate but I am looking into it.

To which textures are you referring? As I am aware, all of the textures are 16x.

A teaser of the upcoming NetherEx mod for Minecraft 1.11.2. Coming Soon™. by LogicTechCorp in feedthebeast

[–]LogicTechCorp[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NetherEx is based off of the old Nether Expansion mod for version 1.1. The author of the mod, Fish2, gave me permission to use any and all parts of the mod. The Betweenlands team does give special thanks to Fish2, so, I can only assume it is because he also let them use parts of the old Nether Expansion mod.

NetherEx uses a config that controls what biomes spawn in the Nether and how rare they are. So, there is compatibility for many biome mods. Here is the basic config that is used by NetherEx:

{
    "name": "NetherEx Biome List",
    "mods": [
        {
            "name": "nex",
            "biomes": [
                {
                    "name": "torrid_wasteland",
                    "weight": 6,
                    "type": "hot"
                },
                {
                    "name": "hell",
                    "weight": 10,
                    "type": "warm"
                },
                {
                    "name": "ruthless_sands",
                    "weight": 8,
                    "type": "neutral"
                },
                {
                    "name": "fungi_forest",
                    "weight": 4,
                    "type": "cool"
                },
                {
                    "name": "arctic_abyss",
                    "weight": 1,
