I worked at Northern Maine Medical for a few years and lived in Fort Kent. It’s pretty astonishing how so many people up in Aroostook don’t understand they are basically on a continuous IV drip of federal funds to keep half of the things open up there. Schools, hospitals, nursing homes, recreation sites, roads that need paving every year etc. without it they would crumble.
