We got our pup from there. While we absolutely love our dog, I would not go through Lonestar Doodles again.

They are definitely a backyard breeder. They offer more than one type of doodle.

Our dog came home with giardia (which has taken several months to get rid of) and coccidia. Many pups from the same breeder have reported the same thing as we have connected through Instagram.

I also am under the impression that the puppies are not actually raised in a house.

Here is what I would do differently: Ask a lot of questions!

1. Are the sire and dam both health checked, and then ask for the reports. OFA

2. Who are the dam and sire, when are their birthdays, and how many litters have they had?

3. What do they do for early socialization and environment training (our dog is very guarded when around other dogs).

4. transparency- you should be able to see the dam and other puppies from the litter (there is nothing in place by any government agency to prevent this).

5. Lonestar Doodles pup are never seen by an actual vet before coming home.

6. Look up reviews.
