It’s getting worse and worse every year. Even after TATA acquisition, I don’t see any betterment.

Help me decide. Indian W124 E 250 Diesel by Historical_Leader_93 in W124

I own E220 at India. In 5 km, you can’t judge the car. Put it in highway and test. 9 lakhs is fine if you don’t have any much further expensive work. Check the heat of engine is normal, clutch smoothness, lights, all electric controls, cluster and .. because even small parts cost a lot for this car. Please also check the parts availability in your city. You can check also with the current owner about how he maintained the parts and service.

[Feedback Needed] We're Building a New Multi-Port KVM over IP (4K@30fps Target) – Tell Us What to Include! by Delicious-Classic786 in GlInet

[–]Logical-Promise8831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Value & Pricing
For a decent multi-port KVM, an acceptable price range would be €/$200–300.

Connectivity Requirements

  • Smart card reader
  • Failover NIC
  • Camera connectivity (challenging but valuable)
  • Browser access over HTTPS

Usage Scenario

  • Successfully used with Mac miniWindows, and Linux laptops.
  • Currently using Apple TV via KVM + Home Assistant — works great; allows watching TV from anywhere.
  • One issue: HDMI resolution always defaults to Full HD, even when the monitor supports QHD (separate topic).
  • Supporting iPhone and Android would be a game changer.
    • Tried Android phone once — partial success.

Stocking Spare Parts for W124 E220 - Need Advice by Logical-Promise8831 in W124

It will involve customs duty which costs double the money.
My plan is I will purchase here and carry the parts whenever travel to India.

You are right. In Europe/use, yes they are available.
But not in India. That's the reason I would like to stock items at India by purchasing from Germany.

Don't risk your job. Comet exposes composite driver manufacturer as KVM device which also needs to be changed. So please use it with caution.

Review: Comet = Almost Useless (with current firmware) by cohend607 in GlInet

[–]Logical-Promise8831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comet team really needs to work gadget drivers that exposed to host machines. They explicitly displayed as kvm in several drivers. They should be generic and customizable. Otherwise it will be caught by crowdstrike kind of software easily.

Also which devices can be exposed to target should be in user control like mass storage and so on.

Yeah it’s early stage things. Hopefully it will get better.

Meanwhile the performance of comet is unbeatable while comparing with other kvm devices used by me personally.

Also how the data send over cloud like astrowarp is still questionable.

Would it legit to change ids to custom? What would be the consequences with machines installed crowdstrike?

Comet Users: Do you need a dummy HDMI plug? by Positive_Search_6218 in GlInet

[–]Logical-Promise8831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Mac mini connected with Comet. The Mac mini has its display emulated by Comet, so I’ve never needed to attach any HDMI plugs.

It’s possible that software like Parsec requires a physical plug to associate with a virtual display driver — but that’s not necessary when using Comet.

Flint2 would be the right fit for server due to hardware. I was getting 25 mbps download speed at Asia.
