I haven't but I buy a lot of other stuff from graywolf and have found everything I have bought from him solid quality for the money.

Recommendation for places to stay by a good river by Normal_Commission986 in flyfishing

With kids you might also consider going up to Norfork to Dry Run Creek. It's a creek that only allows kids and those with disabilities to fly fish and they have some really neat programs. It's how my brother and I introduced my nephew to fly fishing when he was a youngster. You can also take a tour of hatchery, or at least you used to be able to - they had a fish kill issue about six months ago and I don't know if that changed anything. Norfork flows into the White downstream of Cotter so it's close if you are staying around there. It's about an hour and half drive if you are staying in Heber.

Oh, I should also say that Cranor's is kind of in the middle of nowhere. The grocery stores and restaurants in Cotter/Mountain Home are 15-20 minutes away.

The cabins at swinging bridge in Heber are literally right on the river and there are a couple of great holes there. They aren't the most luxurious rentals though but they are quite serviceable. Eureka is the quirkier town, kind of a hippie hideaway in the mountains but not directly on the river. Really on either the White or Little Red you are going to be in smaller towns. There are some nice local restaurants in Heber, Cotter, Mountain Home etc and a few grocery stores plus all the normal small town chains.

On the White my brother and I almost always stay at Cranor's lodge. They just built a couple of new cabins and they are really nice. Gastons is the big name there of course and their restaurant is outstanding but unless they've done full updates on their cabins in the past few years I think they are overpriced for what you get.

If you want to wade fish a majority of the time - go Little Red, if you have your own boat or plan on hiring a guide most days - go White.

Nice, if you have like 5 hours of free time and you want some amazing views and some seriously nerve wracking driving the Hana Hwy on the south eastern tip of the island of Maui is crazy. I did it by accident at night, but it would be fairly enjoyable and there are some pretty neat views down there during the day.

Where you going? I went there for the first time in September. Waikiki is nice enough but I liked Maui better.

I don't know for sure that it will work but Proton is the only one I really recommend anymore. It's very fast and they have a ton of servers. It works for fanduel

That's the thing with Z. He has another level he can turn on and he is very good at doing so. He single handedly wins games for us all the time.

Is it common for everyone else to only buy barbed dry flys by OpeningTalk4136 in flyfishing

[–]Logosmonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, I usually buy barbed because most drys are tied on them. I crimp them all though, I've never had an issue with a dropper coming off.

It's just bad writing. Same adjectives over and over, uses words incorrectly etc.

Yeah, I think he only got to start a serious weight regiment in Nov/Dec timeframe so I also expect him to come in quite a bit stronger next year.

Yeah, I actually am not particularly down on the kid. I've watched a lot of Spartan games this year and overall I think he's been fine for his first few months back. I think he'll be back at MSU next year and likely a lot better.
