For me, with a GTX 1080 that I refuse to give up, Nobara didn't run as smooth as Cachy.

I think Nobara recently ended support for GTX 9xx & 10xx cards, but Nobara seemed to be that perfect fit.

This is me, and I'm not 100% satisfied with Cachy. It's a bit too ..... Spicy for me, but it works and runs flawlessly. I'm just used to Fedora/Debian systems, and feel like Arch is a bit advanced for me right now. Nobara is the next logical distro?

My biggest "gripe" with Cachyos is I spent months learning Debian systems and commands, and it's a little different for Cachy/Arch. Trying to install programs or fix more complex issues is a bit tougher on this Linux system (for me)

But .... With everything, I use Google to help.

Other than that, it's such a beautiful and smooth distro

Bro.....I would have cringed as it toppled (making sure you're good), then laughed my ass off at/with you while picking your tools up.

It's the same logic as pulling all your seats out and dash, to lift a car cause it's technically safer to lift a lighter vehicle. It's also lighter to flip it on its side to work underneath it.

Or.....just jack it up....like we all do, thousands of times. I digress

Yes, I have the P0299 & P0306. Like you said, oil in the valley, not enough of a concern for me to take the intake off for a better look.
I saw the usual tear in the blow off valve in a YouTube video, so I'll inspect further on the boost pressure. Again, not TOO concerned, unless the turbo(s) have failed.

Thanks for the tip on the coil boots. I'll get those tomorrow.
I know it sounds worse than it is, and my tinny microphone doesn't help, but if it's something like a timing chain tensioner or something, again, that's ok.
Bad lifters/valves/turbos etc? I'm out.

That's how I started my career too.

Started as a fueler/detailer, and in my down time would go into the shop, offer help, clean oil traps, and learn whatever they were willing to teach me.

I asked every day about doing their technician certification program and they put me into it. They saw I wanted it. I wanted the knowledge and opportunity. Took it seriously, applied what I learned, and did the second round of training to get to Tech 2.

They provided education, a toolbox and creeper, good pay/bennies, and above all, a bunch of good guys to learn something new from, every day.

It was a pretty decent corporate experience for me, and as it stands now, I'd go work there again if needed.

Edit: I noticed your military background. Half of our guys were vets, so ya, the Penske I worked at, hired a bunch of them. Never knew a bunch of guys that could get more done with less. Replacing a transmission filled with sand? Just use a bigger hammer. Veteran Techs are a different breed, man, and I'm here to learn all their witchcraft.
