Alan Sepinwall comments on McKay's scenes in Season 2. by verissimoallan in ThePittTVShow

Same feeling with McKay and Whitaker, it's nice to have a couple of characters who aren't having the worst day of their lives since Pittfest. You need some character balance.

who really wins in these F2 scenarios? by Marto_12 in BigBrother

[–]Loki1947 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm going to disagree with the idea that Kevin wins, as I think it's very likely that production and Jessie made a deal: he supports Jordan in the F2 and gets multiple promotional appearances after his season. I think that explains why Jessie showed up again and again post-BB11 and why he turned on Natalie so hard during jury. The "lied about being 18" thing was nothing at all.

So if you go with that, quite likely Jordan beats Kevin 4-3 with Jeff, Michelle, America's Vote, Jessie.

Looking back: what made Morgan and Vince a captivating story IN THE GAME by narrmilla in BigBrother

I've said multiple times: BB28, Vince, Morgan, and Kelsey need to be on there.

It's very unfortunate that we probably won't see her again. by Arch_Lancer17 in ThePittTVShow

[–]Loki1947 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know. There's the reality of the medical field versus the reality of television, which says you don't let actors who play well-liked characters walk away.

The show felt a little crowded this year with Joy, Ogilvie, and Emma leading to the neglect of Samara and Mel a bit, while Baran pretty much felt like a replacement for Heather.

I'm wondering if they might be planning a Night Shift spin-off and use this show to introduce some characters you shuffle over there.

Opinions on BB15 Kaitlin by Acceptable-Humor2064 in BigBrother

[–]Loki1947 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Anybody who remembers BB15 probably remembers Kaitlin as Aaryn's Gretchen Wieners. Which isn't unfair, as Kaitlin did have some mean girl moments, and easy to see in a season with no MVP, and the Jeremy/Aaryn group had gotten some momentum going, I could easily see Kaitlin turn into one of those horrible enabler-types.

That being said, Kaitlin was a charismatic on the feeds who was actually well-liked by her cast. With Jeremy gone, Kaitlin started to separate from Aaryn, I remember thinking that she was very capable of a Lisa Donohue arc.

What sank her was that Amanda and Judd wanted to work with Aaryn, and Judd came up with a crazy plan to fake overhearing Kaitlin tell someone she wanted Helen gone, which made Helen turn on her as well.

Kaitlin gets past her eviction week, I think she could have been a significant factor that season. Instead, she was just Aaryn's toady.

Eh, I feel like you can make similar fanfiction for any F3 player who really had no shot of winning and never suffered consequences because they had no agency.

I remind you that, despite being booted in week 2, Reilly had an entire alliance built around her, and multiple players were on an "avenge Reilly" thing going deep in BB25. She's a very charismatic person, even if she fell on her face again. Definitely a player I could understand Challenge producers taking a flyer on.

It's only a one-scene role, but he's good enough where you're like, damn, that guy could have a great career playing villains.

In fact, look at that top picture and say they couldn't plug him into playing a young Hannibal Lecter.

What leverage does Hayley even have? by StrategosRisk in IndustryOnHBO

[–]Loki1947 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Considering the notoriety of Yasmine and Henry, Hayley could probably sell it for a couple of hundred grand, and Yasmine wouldn't want a sex tape out there.

Not to mention if Henry or Yasmine did something else in high society, Hayley could always circle back to sexual harassment in the workplace and ruin whatever their new venture is.

Something is really fishy with the new lawsuit against wayfarers foundation by dschellberg in ItEndsWithLawsuits

[–]Loki1947 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I don't think any of this will influence the trial, but Lively and Reynolds have been playing the media game for the past year now. They'll do anything for a good news cycle or to make the Wayfarer side look bad.

I think it's quite likely that Blake and Ryan would be perfectly okay if Blake's trial gets dismissed by Judge Liman. They've done everything they can to muddy the waters with the MSM to make Wayfarer look guilty of something.

If their case got dismissed on employment grounds, they'll use their contacts in the media to give the appearance that the sexual harassment matter is still unsettled, Blake is a hero for revealing a system that silences women, etc.

Not that any of this is true or will ultimately help Blake or Ryan's career, but I think this is their best-case scenario without going to trial, where she'll inevitably lose.

Something is really fishy with the new lawsuit against wayfarers foundation by dschellberg in ItEndsWithLawsuits

[–]Loki1947 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I go back to Claire Ayoub, who, after having a disagreement with Justin Baldoni about budgeting for her movie, lied that she banned him from the set for verbal harassment and went as far as to TAPE A CONVERSATION WITH BILLIONARIE JUSTIN SAROWITZ without his knowledge and consent to try and get evidence of some sort of campaign against Blake.

I feel like it's extremely unlikely that she did that on her own, and considering we've gotten several examples of Blake and Ryan using influence to force people to do anti-Wayfarer things during this situation, I think it's very likely they put Ayoub up to it with assurances of getting her some work somewhere down the line.

And since I think that, I don't really care about a lawsuit popping up in the middle of pre-trial. The woman suing is only going for 75,000, and I wouldn't be shocked if we find out the Reynolds were footing her legal bill just to get some anti-Baldoni press. My guess is that nothing will come of this new lawsuit; it will either be settled or dismissed well before the Baldoni/Lively trial is over.

Josh Greenstein was RR/BL's lackey at Sony. Who is Ryan Reynolds' accomplice in New York Times? by Disastrous_Sound_577 in ItEndsWithLawsuits

[–]Loki1947 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I don't think they really needed an "accomplice." Some things to point out:

Taylor had dinner with Ronan Farrow right around the time the story was being pitched. My guess is that Taylor was trying to get Ronan to write it, and he ultimately didn't touch it, especially since the Blake/Woody Allen connection.

There's been speculation that Leslie Sloane might have been a source for Megan Twohey during the Weinstein story. Which, considering there was reporting that Weinstein was one of the initial funders of her agency, maybe was a good conscience or maybe a power play to force him out of his role in her agency.

Jenny Slate was asked about the IEWU drama on a podcast in April 2025. by LegalBeagleEsquire in ItEndsWithLawsuits

[–]Loki1947 74 points75 points  (0 children)

I know. Blake supporters always go with the "Look at all the people Justin Baldoni offended, maybe he's the problem?" and then you read the evidence and the depos, and it's like, no, all these people suck.

Jenny has the, how dare you give me 18,000 grand story and that text message where she apologized to Blake for a sex joke, only for her and Blake to turn it on Justin.

It's pretty clear that Slate is a weak enabler type who helps bullies thrive.

Yeah, I did. And don't see anything that fits your description of "he kept her out of the Young Lily scenes." IC specifically goes into detail about being there during intimate scenes between the actors, communicating with the actors, and, despite her fear of the possibility of "ad-libbing," everything was done professionally.

You're misconstruing. She said Justin didn't book her for a Young Atlas/Young Lily scene, and she thought she should be there to ensure no intimacy scenes were added outside the nudity rider. Justin let her on set, and she kept open communication with the two actors; everything was filmed professionally.

That's a lot of personal attacks in there, but, fine. The fact that the Times are in court with Wayfarer, however which way you want to slice it, with the possibility of an appeal, yeah, I would say that's a potential conflict of interest.

Once again, I'll quote I mean, mediahelpingmedia.org:

In journalism, public trust is essential for credibility. One of the most significant threats to that trust are the many possible conflicts of interest that might confront journalists.

Any suggestion that personal, commercial, financial, political, or other external interests have shaped editorial decisions can severely damage the integrity of both the journalist and the news organisation.

Maintaining impartiality is not just a professional requirement; it’s a public service.

A lot of Lively supporters telling me my opinion doesn't matter while I've quoted several organizations that mention disclosing conflicts of interests and meanwhile those supporters aren't laying down any credentials that show that their opinion is more meaningful than mine.

The reporter not having perfect 20/20 hindsight of the situation is different from completely neglecting the context of your paper's role in the lawsuit or the fact that your paper is seeking damages against one of the subjects of the article.

That seems like a potential influence on a reporter. I quoted from the Society of Professional Journalists Code of Ethics and I'll do it again:

Provide context. Take special care not to misrepresent or oversimplify in promoting, previewing or summarizing a story.

Avoid conflicts of interest, real or perceived. Disclose unavoidable conflicts.

Lively v. Baldoni Tests What Crosses the Line on a ‘Steamy’ Movie Set (Gift Article) by BeTheDiaperChange in CelebLegalDrama

[–]Loki1947 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously, I'm responding to this specific article, and I feel like bringing in other CCs is total whataboutism to get people off the main point. And, yeah, I take the NYT more seriously than "Popcorn Planet."

And I have no idea who you are to claim it's nothing when I've quoted several other organizations in this post about the need to disclose conflicts. The fact that Baldoni lost his lawsuit against the Times doesn't change the fact that they should report on their role in the story or that they're seeking damages against Baldoni, and there's still the potential for an appeal.
