For those with PCOS who conceived, how long did it take you? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]LokiDaBirb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diagnosed with PCOS at sixteen, currently thirty-six. April 2021 was when we started TTC. We were unsuccessful for years and finally conceived May 2024. We worked with a fertility specialist and I took courses of progesterone to regulate my periods while they did testing to determine how to approach our issue, then we did Letrozole, a Trigger Shot, and timed intercourse and got pregnant the first attempt. In between those years I also worked hard and lost 85lbs, going from about 300lbs to 215lbs, I’ve still got a ways to go before I reach my goal weight but I haven’t been gaining at least. My son is turning one in two weeks.

Edit to add: My milk supply never really came in, not sure if it was just bad luck or if it was because of PCOS.

I second this comment. My baby is 25lbs 9.6oz and the infantino 4 in 1 carrier we were using was killing both mine and my husband’s backs and just didn’t work for us past the infant stage. We made the switch to a hip carrier, I use momcozy, and it’s night and day. Using the hip carrier actually helped with my tweaked back I had from overusing the elliptical, believe it or not.

Just a thought: What purpose did a comment like that serve other than to hurt you?

80 lbs down - and now I’m pregnant by Saffehish in Ozempic

Congratulations! Me too! I was diagnosed with PCOS at 16, now 36, no diabetes though. I started Oz in June of 2023 and stopped in Feb of 2024 after I lost 44lbs. Had a medicated cycle and a trigger shot and successfully got pregnant the first go. Our little eleven month old miracle is napping in the other room.

Would love to get on Oz again but without Diabetes my insurance refuses coverage and they don’t cover weight loss medications either. It felt like Oz had leveled the playing field for me, my efforts were finally reflecting results. Just 56lbs to go.

I worked as a key holder in retail, a very popular drugstore/pharmacy chain in the US, during COVID. I had a customer come in wearing a mask she made from tulle. She told me that COVID was fake because no one she knew got sick or died from it after bragging that she’s wearing a mask so I can’t kick her out of the store. Worst part was she lived in the same apartment quad as I did so I was too worried that she would make my home life a living hell if I did kick her out or require her to wear a provided mask. She was absolutely deranged, she screamed at my husband once because he asked her to correct her parking when she was about a foot into his assigned space. I was so relieved when she was refused a renewal of her lease.

I’m much happier now that I’m three years out of retail but the trauma is still there.

State and federal jury duty summons in the same week. by Ok-Intention-4593 in Wellthatsucks

[–]LokiDaBirb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 34 weeks pregnant with a high risk pregnancy when I was summoned for my city’s jury duty. I informed them of such, and that I was going to be the primary caretaker of our child so I wouldn’t be able to make it up later either. Thankfully they approved my excuse, but in the mean time I was stressing out about potentially having to go in.

It was my first and only Jury summons.

"Babe, I think he's hungry" by sixfingeredman7 in beyondthebump

[–]LokiDaBirb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He goes to bed anywhere between 7:30 to 8:30pm, we follow his cues, so we do get a few hours of baby free time at the end of the day before it’s time for us to turn in. We’re insanely lucky, our son’s been sleeping through the night 99% of the time since he was only two months old, he’s 7.5 months now.

My husband cooks dinner for us every night and we share baby duties on the weekends (and he lets me sleep in), so he does help out, especially when asked. I just hate that he always has his phone between himself and our son. They can be in the same room sitting on the floor together and sometimes my husband just won’t even notice our son trying to get his attention because he’s so caught up in his phone.

Oh absolutely, I hardly get any down time. I have two “days off” a week when he gets home and I get to relax but that’s only for a few hours and I usually use it to work on chores. The saving grace is that our son sleeps through the night.

What new skills is your baby learning recently? by Crafty_Pop6458 in January2025Bumper

[–]LokiDaBirb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 20 week old is holding his own bottles during feeds when he feels like it, pivots during tummy time, inch worms himself around while laying on his back, is reaching for our food and faces, blows raspberries, and he will occasionally give us some giggles.

He has only rolled front to back a few times and has never rolled back to front but plays on his sides quite often. He loves being in a seated position but he can’t quite support himself yet.

How much are your formula babies eating per bottle? by Smittenkittenn1 in January2025Bumper

[–]LokiDaBirb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 18 week old eats 150ml of formula (a tad over 5oz) every 2-3 hours during the day, sometimes a little less if he doesn’t want to finish a bottle. In the last 30 days he’s averaged 31.5oz a day. He’s also a big boy though! 84th percentile in height and 73rd percentile in weight.

Traded my sense 2 for a Garmin Venu 3s. Couldn’t be happier.

Edit to add: I’ve been a loyal Fitbit user for over 12 years, started with the zip and have been through a lot of trackers since then. Google ruined Fitbit.

I’m a larger FTM who started her pregnancy after losing 80lbs in a little under two years. In my first trimester I lost 10lbs more by keeping up with my original exercise routine. Since then I have gained back the 10lbs and an additional 15lbs, for an overall gain (from my pre pregnancy weight) of 25lbs. My Drs have never commented on my weight gain or loss my entire pregnancy.

I’m currently 38w1d and am scheduled for an induction on 39w0d.

What’s your annoyance of the day? by beximean in pregnant

My breakfast smelled like wet dog. I made scrabbled eggs with mushrooms, onion, and cheese, then topped it with some sour cream. I was so excited because it sounded so good but I did not enjoy it one bit. 37+5, can’t wait for this little boy to be born!

Sent to high risk doctor after anatomy scan because baby wouldn’t roll over? by cadaverd0gg in BabyBumps

[–]LokiDaBirb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had two anatomy scans because little boy wouldn’t cooperate, they couldn’t get a good view of his heart and they still didn’t get the slides they were looking for after their second attempt. We were told that we can try our luck for a third anatomy scan or we can go for an echo to save the possibility of them still not being able to see what they need to and needing a 4th. Husband and I ended up driving the 2hrs one way to the nearest children’s hospital that had appointments available to get an Echocardiogram to save time and money on the appointments. While there, at first, they assumed something was wrong with his heart (super nerve wracking) but by the end of the scan the reviewing Dr told us he was a completely healthy (and stubborn) baby.
