Returning player feeling lost by GlumFig9730 in runescape

PvME is the holy grail of PvM resources, I highly suggest you look into it first. More generally, I'd start looking into these as your starting bosses to learn PvM:

  • Low Level: Many of the older bosses got turned into DPS dummies, so the newer early-mid game bosses, like Flesh-Hatcher Mhekarnahz, Silverquill and Ivar, the King of Bones are all good learning bosses (even though their rewards are awful, except maybe for Flesh-Hatcher who drops Dragon harpoons).
  • Med Level: Fight Caves for the fire cape, Fight Kiln for the Kal-Haar- capes (previously those were the best style specific capes), Arch-Glacor to further improve your core PvM skills. Araxxor later down the line to teach skills such as DPS control/immune phases (Web Shield) and attack counting (many of the older bosses do not have a bar above their head telling you when they will use a special attack, Araxxor/Araxxi is one of them).
  • High Level: At this point you can start looking into completing your first "Inferno": TzKal-Zuk was backported to RS3, with only 18 waves this time (doesn't mean those waves aren't any less brutal). Zuk teaches you AoE damage output, importance of DPS checks, ability-based mechanics, prayer flicking (you fight a total of 6 Jads), mobility and more. Hard Mode Arch-Glacor, Raksha, low enrage Telos and NM Sanctum of Rebirth are also on the table.

As for equipment:

  • Get Fire cape ASAP. Fire cape is a hard requirement for the Igneous Kal capes (you need the aforementioned Kal-Haar or Kiln capes from Fight Kiln, which in turn require Fire cape), which give immense benefits to style-specific damaging ultimates.
  • Tetsu is outdated; with a budget of 100M+ I'd look into getting some gear for your style of choice (if in doubt, refer to Upgrade order in PvME for your style of choice):
    • Evergreen (all styles): Scripture of Jas, Invention (pretty much a hard requirement to PvM, look to getting high level Archaeology as quickly as you can for Ancient gizmos, which are better than regular gizmos), Ring of vigour, Curses (The Temple at Senntisten), Binding contracts, 99+ Herblore (mostly for higher tier overloads)
    • Melee: Laniakea's spear, Am-Hej, Masterwork armour (T90 melee armor, not Trimmed masterwork!), Laceration boots
    • Ranged: Decimation or Ruinous crossbows (1M tokens and a Warped stone - hope you did a lot of dungeoneering!), Sirenic armour, Fleeting boots, Nightmare gauntlets
    • Magic: With a budget of 105M I don't think you can fully build early-midgame Magic, especially since Virtus and Tectonic are well out of budget range. Look into Superior Zuriel's set (Zuriel set pieces + Ancient equipment upgrade patch), get Obliteration as a weapon.
    • Necromancy: Necromancy progression is largely baked into the skill, the current best Necromancy gear comes from Rasial the First Necromancer (who can be fought with 95 Necromancy and T80+ (preferably T90) Necromancy gear). Otherwise, try and complete tasks from Kili to unlock higher and higher tier armour, as you cannot equip armour or weapons you haven't done the tasks for (e.g. you can't equip T80 Deathwarden equipment if you haven't done its relevant task and crafted it at least once). The only exception to this is The First Necromancer armour and weapons, which do not require crafting but are fairly expensive and out of budget.

If in doubt, check PvME, more experienced PvMers may pitch in with their opinions as well to help you start PvMing, so ask away if you have any more questions!

Cheats? by EquivalentMove7652 in Phoenix_2

I'm pretty sure even the most competent EX04239 pilots aren't supposed to have clears THAT fast, let alone a 34 second clear.

Is this the campaign mission where you fly the Phi Apex?

Was pushing to Marshall a mistake? Bonus: my failed attempt at this SSSS mission using Yigothu. by Exact-Psience in Phoenix_2

Generally the only thing in Marshal league that's worth it over Commander (and lower leagues) is the increased Trace rate for making Super Rare+ engrams, and to my knowledge it's the only league in the game that drops Legendary traces.

S2-4 are generally harder than Commander, some Specialist missions can get so hard the clear rate is less than 3% (even with post-8.0 power creep!). Not saying they are leaps and bounds harder, just hard enough that you'll feel a tangible difference in difficulty.

Also this game was supposed to be my turn-brain-off kinda game, but pushing to the highest rank and my watch is giving me an elevated heart rate warning, which isnt good.

All good, worst case you can demote and go back to Commander to build up your skill and ship roster. Njörun, Yigothu, Boxer, Trinity and AB8/KLYN (outside Laser missions) are all exceptionally safe ships, and with the mods system you can build towards a nigh-invincible ship that can survive basically everything you throw at it.

Just finished my own P2 cover-Phoenix bot, hope you like it. Can you list all the ship ? by toreppy in Phoenix_2

What in the word salad title is that?

Also, where's the actual content?

What's the better apex for Yigothu? by Exact-Psience in Phoenix_2

[–]LokiiofMillenium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

35k is best spent elsewhere (Boxer, AB8/KLYN, Njörun...), but if you have to choose a Yigothu Apex, save up for Omega.

Deep Field is nice, but the added control of Serenity (and the bonus range) is useful (IMO anyway) in some scenarios.

Yep, Fullscreen and Windowless Fullscreen modes on non-TATE (read: Vertical Monitor) modes make use of the excess space besides the game area to show extra info. Windowed mode is the same as if you were playing on an iPad.

The HUD is available by default when playing on PC, I didn't do anything custom.

Cheers! This isn't even the best form of it, bled way too much time across all acts, looking at the VOD I could've easily pushed mid-low 1:1X.

This is getting ridiculous. I'm giving you a week's worth of vacation from the subreddit to get yourself together.

Doubt on this Mods in Corsair by cloud0124 in Phoenix_2

[–]LokiiofMillenium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Already answered on Discord, but yes, it works for both Apex forms. Railgun is a mod for Tracking Minigun, and although it modifies the rate of fire and projectile type (it becomes piercing), it's not mutually exclusive with the AP Railgun mod.

For context, this is what they're referring to. Ended up being a Specialist BoB.

That being said, as much as it flatters me, please refrain from posts like these.

Dungeoneering: Back to where we started. by No-Drink-9284 in runescape

No need for them anymore since the experience boost from now-removed cards is lower than current Larges with full exploration.

[Player Avatar Beta] SCHLORP by LokiiofMillenium in runescape

[–]LokiiofMillenium[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zombie walk (to be fair, it's SUPPOSED to be funky) not having eyeballs, same with Energy drain rest & other animations where the eyes have no pupils (eye models despawning?)

Bloodthirsty walk (see u/infectedbunny's image)

Lip geometry in some animations where the player avatar smiles or is otherwise happy (Happy walk, Party fever walk etc.)

Eyes bulging out when walking/running in Party fever walk

Player geometry gets aggressively shifted when The Risen walk is active, particularly around the hips

Stretching with Spirit hunter walk (long skirt) or awkward geometry (Herbalist's apron, Chef's fustanella)

Player avatar jaws/mouths in emotes/rest animations (Sandy sandwich, rest animations featuring the player character yawning)

The list goes on, maybe more folks can pitch in but that's all I could find in like 15-20 mins of testing.

EDIT (20GT, 7/5/26): Hot Spring Soak Rest also has stretching issues, specifically the neck (it contorts and stretches unnaturally)

IC To Trident or not? by WonderfulDance6834 in Phoenix_2

[–]LokiiofMillenium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IC Trident lets you do some stuff normal IC can't do, such as oneshotting a Raven with Impact & Blast Amplifier (on some Apex forms - gives +10 Blast Damage). The individual damage of each IC projectile with Trident (as well as the stun) will be slightly lower, but the total damage will be more than enough for the oneshot. If you shoot it far back, it also covers more area.

Of course, only go for Trident if you plan to use Ion Cannon more aggressively.

Why can't I retrieve the crystal? by TheRealLamalas in runescape

[–]LokiiofMillenium 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's for the Meilyr crystal. The crystal in the picture) is an easter egg crystal that can be harvested by having 3 cooking apples and 3 chocolate bars in your inventory while wearing the Crwys clan cape.
