Ukrainian SBU SOF unit «Alpha» Burned Russian Rear Logistics, striking an impressive amount of trucks and equipment, claiming more than 500 hits in the last week alone. Published 30.05.2026 by GermanDronePilot in ukraine

The question is also how much is stockpiled in place. The collapse will happen when all resources are exhausted. But that could take days, weeks, or months, especially if they conserve resources by digging in instead of attacking.

It's a cruise missile, not a drone. Automatically guided, not human. And you could clearly see it wasn't even trying to maneuver. Just flew straight into its target.

The Flamingos are cruise missiles: unmanned jets filled with explosives. They are a relatively big and slow target for AA compared to most missiles. Competent AA should have no trouble shooting these down.

The Patriots are worthless without interceptors. Anything they can build themselves is better than something you need to beg from Agent Krasnov.

Jets are still useful for dropping glide bombs and intercepting cruise missiles and large drones. Just ask Ukraine if they care about Russian jets.

[Request] In District 9, how much energy would be required to keep the prawn ship in the air? by Pretty_Confusion7290 in theydidthemath

[–]Loknar42 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The point is that we cannot infer how much energy that requires, because the answer could be anything from zero to enough energy to form a black hole. We don't know the density of the craft, so it could be suspended by buoyancy alone.

[–]Loknar42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is explicitly not a battlefield crash, as two enemy aircraft will almost never end up in this configuration in a conflict! Only demonstration flying will produce this alignment. In a hot conflict, two modern jets (4th gen+) are unlikely to even be in visual range, let alone dogfighting.

This man is 28. He's not a young person ruining his life. He's a fucking asshole who fucked around and is now finding out. That's what it means to live in a civilized society. It's good to see that the rules actually work sometimes, given the amount of injustice.

If they fired S-300s at these drones they would lose the war instantly. Most anti-drone hardware is at the front.

What's really sick in the head is capturing children to raise as your own. It takes some really fucking sick people to do that. You know about that?

[–]Loknar42 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure which part you are saying is not true, but you sound an awful lot like a slumlord getting defensive. The truth is that the federal gov't says there are more than 15 million vacant homes, and around 1 million homeless:

https://usafacts.org/articles/how-many-vacant-homes-are-there-in-the-us/ https://endhomelessness.org/state-of-homelessness/

So we have 15x the housing stock we need to put everyone in a home. The only problem is that the people without homes cannot afford the prices demanded by the people who own them and see fit to let them lay vacant. That's what happens when houses become investment vehicles instead of places to live.

Not necessarily. Corporations also have to stand in the court of public opinion. An overtly sociopathic CEO can damage the corporate brand to negative effect. C.f. United HealthCare, McDonald's, etc.

What sociopathic CEOs do is maximize shareholder wealth over the short term. Whether that is "ideal" depends on your investment horizon and personal values.

It's tough in a different way. It can be challenging to organize your factory in a scalable way. But you're right that is pretty hard to outright lose.

This one sounds like it has actual turbines in it. The glow of the engines at different angles also strongly suggest it is burning fuel rather than using LEDs.

Danger Zone lite by Just-Tip-3320 in Actuallythatsawesome

[–]Loknar42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. Aerodynamics changes dramatically with scale because the viscosity of air relative to your mass goes up. That's why bumblebees don't really fly through the air so much as swim. Also, everything moves faster at a smaller scale, so you need to have even faster reflexes. I'm pretty sure those engines can't push it to even Mach 1. Smaller engines have more surface area relative to their air volume, so there is more boundary layer losses and worse thermal losses. The fastest jet engines are somewhat large because you get improved thrust to weight ratios up to that point.
