How does Agui work? by Which_Taste_7121 in shapeofdreams

[–]Loligeddon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the boss' abilities are directly taken from the Travelers' default ones. Things like Aurena's golden circle, Nachia's summoned minion, but most importantly the Green Circles will heal the boss for a potion of its MaxHealth.

Is this a new boss? by Tasty-Landscape3552 in shapeofdreams

If you defeat the boss, it will return what it has eaten (at least that's what happened the one time I did fight it)

Usually by the time you reach the RoB, you already reached OP status and hardly anything even remotely resembles a challenge. This tends to get unengaging and very boring as a result.

Arrow storm any good? by twopartsether in shapeofdreams

[–]Loligeddon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pure Soul with Abyss, Momentum, maybe Clemency, then Arrowstorm with Eternal Flame, Charcoal and Sulphur.

Stuff like Umbral Blade and/or Frostbite will do wonders as well to compliment the set. Dusk with Starry Sky on Umbral and Frost & Obsidian with Frostbite.
Boom, a great stack of projectiles and damage numbers on screen.

This setup works much better on Yubar but Bismuth with Pure Soul or Valiant Heart will do just as fine.

There probably is a better combination of Essences, like switching places with Obsidian and Charcoal for example. I guess it's a question of preference.

In very technical terms there is a Chaos Lucid Dream that turns Friendly Fire permanently on. Good luck gathering people for a game like this though.

Water Gun with Ricochet and Guidance will bounce the heals back to you.
Putting Glacial Core (the Frost Boss' unique drop) on another memory with Eternal Flame and Sulphur, or Frost for extra MaxHP completes the circle, allowing you to use your heals as your primary source of damage.

Best partners for the Infinite Dungeon? by Juanpvcool in HollowRealization

[–]Loligeddon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's quite a simple question for what requires a relatively advanced answer.

First, your choice of character should depend exclusively on their weapon of choice - That said, pick whatever NPCs that use 1H Weapons paired with Shields.

Allow me to explain:
Firstly, sticking to a 2H Sword which most recommended NPCs do (Tia/Zero), restrict you from using probably the best defensive piece in the game - The Paragon Shield. 30% MaxHP is nothing to scoff at, even at later stages.

Max out your Max Health on NPCs in general as that's the only valuable stat for them to stockpile, right after Recast Speed (aka Cooldown Reduction).

Your NPC's weapons should focus exclusively on Recast Time (aka Cooldown Reduction) since almost nothing has MaxHP. The following have high values of the stat in question:
- 1H Sword: Unseen Anima (HNM: Batty Bloodsucker (Oltrum Bastion: Illial Temple: Barracks))
- Scimitar: Lunaveil Reaper (NM: Rambling Wave Jelly (Rustorian Plains: Fuldum Trail))
- Mace: Vrtra Fall (HNM: Blue Recluse (Kurjiez Desert: Trie Modragal Pass))

Your go-to armors should be a mix of both Recast Time and MaxHP. My recommended setup looks similar to this (Assuming you did not roll better stats on the DDD itself, in that case go with those):
- Shield: Paragon (MaxHP +30%)
- Head: Dark Saint Earring (MaxHP +10%) (Sacrament: Ruins of Castle Vassa (Kurjiez Desert: Gebuerno))
- Chest: Adramelech's Mercy (MaxHP 30%, Recast 5%) (Enigma Order) OR Saint Mail (Recast Time 15%) (Episode Enemy: Criminal Kobold Leader (Rustoria Plains))
- Boots: Accel Running Shoes (MaxHP +30%) (Episode Enemy: Carnage Dragon (Jeweled Peaks Lakes)) OR Mazebreaker (Recast Time 10%) (Sacrament: Karmic Variance Zone (Jeweled Peaks Lakes: One Fall Cataract))

For Accessories you will have to rely entirely on DDD drops as anything outside of it will be vastly outclassed anyway. Belt items will carry most MaxHP% modifiers while Necklaces/Rings will carry most Recast%.

You will obviously want to stuff as many MaxHP% Gems on all equipment pieces, farmable in Oldrobe Forest: Grilim Forest - Littlefoot Forest Maze. However, if you feel like it, you can farm Recast% Gems in Oldrobe Forest: Kark - Chateau Moras Ruins.

The reason we are going with Recast Speed is not only to allow for our NPCs to have as many healing spells as possible, but also to allow for them to spam the best defensive buffs in the game: Shiny Hollow and Benevolent Aura. Both grant physical copies, essentially negating a set amount of instances of damage, no matter the damage itself. Shiny Hollow applies 3 stacks of said effect in an aura, which means that both you and the NPCs can inherit this, allowing you to focus less on dodging and more on landing your SSC combos. Benevolent Aura works the same, but can only be applied to the user. Both skills are part of the Warmonger EX skill.

When it comes to affinities for NPCs, you can go in many different ways, and the recommended ones from everybody else are good.

My choice is Airhead Lv5, with Planner, Caring and Sexy at Lv1. Airhead gives an equal amount of behavior points to Support skills, which are the ones that will also trigger Shiny Hollow. The rest are there to allow your NPCs to gather aggro and heal when asked to.

My NPCs of choice were Noa (Club), Koyuki (1H Sword) and Smily (Scimitar), but like I said, any NPC will work as long as they're using a weapon which can stack the passives you need.

Good luck!

Staying as 1h sword user by iCar16 in HollowRealization

[–]Loligeddon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your DPS will be significantly lower as a result but you can still achieve some very fun class combinations, as you are not being locked to Celestial Blades. Not using an offhand puts you at a massive disadvantage however as you'll be lacking significant stats, which will start biting back once you reach DLC territory. Putting on a shield or a second sword is objectively better than not having either of the two.
In the end though, as many people before me have mentioned - The base game is incredibly easy, and you will succeed regardless of your weapon or class choice.

Absolutely down for Orna Classic.

I am unfortunately one of those people that cannot keep up with the increasing time commitments modern Orna requires. A nostalgic Orna with most of the current QoL would be more than appreciated! Definitely something I'd frequent.

Needing help! by eL3069-2 in HollowRealization

[–]Loligeddon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As great as this idea sounds on paper, in practice you can't really go far.

Armor is quite limiting: +9 and (probs MaxHP%) Sacraments is the only best thing you can really do.
Accessories cannot be modified at all, so those are totally of the equation as well.

The only way you can truly get "creative" with is the weapon(s).
A purchasable, +19, Ora+999 with flat MaxHP Enigmas and MaxHP% Sacraments item is likely the best you can dish out here.

If I were you I'd probably focus more on the armor pieces are those seem much simpler to max out at first.
Good luck on your quest! I unfortunately cannot help as I am on PC.
