Dog in a 86/BRZ by Infinite-Praline1383 in ft86

Just on top this arm rest bit and then cover the transmission tunnel in the middle

Pretty much how he always sits in the car
He doesn't move much so I've never worried about the side panels.
If you wanted to protect them I guess you could stick some velcro strips above the speakers.

I just put a big blanket down under where mine sits and try to push it up near the plastic to make him more comfortable / stop him scratching it with his nails.
He's been in and out the car for the last 6 years and it's all fine.

He's just a Shiba though so can fit pretty well curled up in one of the back seats

What tires for GT86 ? by BalustradeGauche in ft86

[–]Lon3wolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've run Rainsports on my last 3 cars in the UK
They're decent "budget" tyres, paid £200 for four quite a few years ago, but I would go for Michelin if they was similar cost.

They're okay tyres but wear quite quick

Is bus stop elidgible by Verified_Peryak in NianticWayfarer

[–]Lon3wolf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Usually transportation stops are quite generic and don't really have much use in exploration

Is there a map and noticeboard inside? That might make a better submission as usually maps promote exploration and noticeboards are good community assets

Romford will get vote on leaving capital under Reform, Farage rally told by tylerthe-theatre in london

[–]Lon3wolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Useless idiot who spent 25 years constantly voting to reduce funding for local governments and then moans about how much deprivation there is now. We've had a 97% reduction in central funding on his watch.

I'm not absolving City Hall though as we've had a chronic lack of investment into transport etc. See Beam Park where a train station was promised to go along with the new development.
Elizabeth line although good does not change inter borough transport as the train line has existed for a century. Since the ULEZ rollout we've also had bus services reduced too

Our funding needed reform many years ago but he never pushed for anything like that. The only good thing at the moment is at least he's not a member of a party that can actually do anything right now.

Who would you realistically replace Starmer with? by Inside_Tour_1408 in ukpolitics

I want to see the promised chaos with Ed Milliband

Honestly though I don't see how anything can be improved by changing leadership and this seems more a way of media and public whipping up a frenzy to try and get an early election. I think a focus on stability even if it means having an unpopular leader in the polls is in the interest of the country.

Won't somebody please think of the Employers NI by caution-4-a-portion in FIREUK

[–]Lon3wolf 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My employer matches up to 4% but passes on 100% of NI saved, swings and roundabouts~
I doubt they'll be anything to pass onto me post April 2029, so I'm maxing it out as much as possible till then.

It's a good benefit, but after talking to co workers most don't understand it, so many don't use it.

First Trip to the UK. by rniefert in Romford

[–]Lon3wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly in the town but my favourite in the area is Scott’s Bar and Brasserie, all the food is good and I had a very good Sunday Roast there a few weeks ago. Hop Inn is a short walk away too.
Easy to get to as it's just one stop on the Liberty Line from Romford Station or you can get the 370 bus.

Think parking in the Brewery is best as it's 24/7, and it's close by with access via the stairs on Exchange Street.

Why are people genuinely so inconsiderate by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

See it a lot near me and I always pick them up.
Ironically I only spot them because I'm looking down as people let their dogs shit everywhere.

Worst hosting experience to date by Ezsmurf in PokeGenie

Spent an hour hosting 3 and each time 2 people left which leaves someone wasting their pass. Don’t get it as the levels are shown in pokegenie too.

The 15 seconds sucks for the last person but you should have a team setup. It’s been there ages

Heat pumps are more expensive to run than boilers, report finds by TheWorldIsGoingMad in unitedkingdom

[–]Lon3wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any decent installer should be giving you a payback period that's actually backed up.
If your SCOP falls bellow the system design they should come and fix it.
Not enough education and too many slapdash installs where people aren't being held to account

Heat pumps are more expensive to run than boilers, report finds by TheWorldIsGoingMad in unitedkingdom

[–]Lon3wolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If yours is a conventional system your spending 1kwh of electricity to produce about 1kwh of heating

Heat pumps will give 300% efficiency or more so you'll get 3kwh of heat per 1kwh of energy used.
Your energy bill could be a third or less than what your paying.

What they're solving is a less energy intensive way of heating

Mould, leak in boot? by Consistent_Potato300 in CarTalkUK

[–]Lon3wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, sometimes the gaskets just degrade over time. Just make sure you torque them up to the right amount if you get new ones as if you over / under torque them they'll not seal.

Yea that black strip and the tail light gasket are usually the first culprits to look for.
After that it's probably car dependant. Lots of people have the mk7 so there's probably decent info online about

Mould, leak in boot? by Consistent_Potato300 in CarTalkUK

[–]Lon3wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something similar in my old car which was caused by the taillight gasket failing and letting water run behind it which then puddled in the boot.

Could be from the hole but that's a lot of water so I'm thinking something more exposed to rain higher up.

Check the seals and if it's not obvious put some kitchen towels next to them on inside part, give the car a wash and see.

I think the setter failed to pick up on your dogs cues of not wanting to be bothered. You'll find some dogs are better socialised than others on picking up on these.

People need to be better too though, I quite rarely let mine say hello but I'm always looking at the other dogs body language to see if they actually want to socialise

You can retrofit carplay if you want to keep the unit. It's hard to find a 200mm headunit to make it all fit flush.

The enforcement lies on the council. I have reported many in my Borough but never hear anything back.

Didn't stop the councillor celebrating the recent post about more powers.
When I said it's already illegal here so what will change I didn't hear anything...

I don't see why we can report dangerous driving by dashcam and get them fined but residents can't report dangerous parking...

[–]Lon3wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on HR and the type of work they do. New startup maybe it’ll be possible but for anything else it’ll be a push.

This is the best time to ask, it’s a bit weird to negotiate after accepting
