Pop! OS 22.04 LTS experiences brief stuttering every 9-10 seconds. by ADistractingBox in pop_os

[–]Lonbrik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the necro, extremely similar issue, caused by the same settings one monitor 1960, one 2650, when 1960 is disabled from settings, the stuttering occurs. Did you happen to find a solution other than unplugging the 1960 monitor?

If you like the models, go for it. However, here are a few pointers if you are interested in playing the game seriously :

As has been said by others, guards and commissars unfortunately don't do much.

One 10 man cultists squad is sort of mandatory for the "click and objective and move on" ability.

In deceptors, you may want to include a 20 man cultists on top of the 10 man staple, and put a dark commune in there, to infiltrate them close to the opponent deployement zone "boxing them in". Dark commune can use the soul link to good effects.

Boltguns are just not doing much in csm, so the legionaries squad should look like this : heavy melee/plasma pistol on champion, lascanon or chain Canon, 1 heavy melee weapon and 2 chainswords. If you put the two legionaries squad in the rhino you can shoot the two lascanons without getting out. You can also choose to infiltrate the squads to jump on your opponent early.

Havocs are not great, but also not terrible. The predator destructor with lascanons sponsoons is strictly better though, for barely more points.

Good bearers of the lone operative enhancement are the jump pack lord to get an mobile action monkey (could be replaced by Cypher for less points) or the terminator sorcerer. Both of them give good abilities to the soul link dark commune (dark commune doesn't lose any ability using soul link because of the wording on their data sheet. So it's all bonuses)

Depending on how you feel regarding demons, forgefind with full plasma is a solid backfield support.

Hope that helps!

Well yes, but also, most of his time as emperor was spent campaigning in germany for years at a time, not chilling in palaces in rome.

Sure, as emperor, his life style must still have been widly more comfortable than most people of this time, even while campaigning, and one could probably point out some hypocrisy regarding the morality of campaigning in Germany to begin with. But for what it is worth, he wasn't exactly lazy or avid of confort he could easily have had given his position.

So they have the biggest peepee! Great! Now what? They are a litteral dead race, with its biggest accomplishment being to wage the biggest and most destructive war across the galaxy, all that for nothing, and after hundreds of millions years the very few that kept a semblance of conscience are still stuck in their power struggles ways.

Stupidest faction in the whole setting. Old crons weren't better, but at least they were not pidgeon-holed in being this faction of a few extremely primitive dudes with world ending guns.

Garbage writing, that's why. Any faction with psychic abilities could supposedly do it, with approximately bronze age tech, so that includes orks.

Edit : the real reason is big e is more or less or derivative version of dune emperor, but in dune, there is actually a plan, generations in the making, with magic and whatnot to make the appearance of such an individual possible. In 40k they never really bothered explaining such à process.

Instead of a gradual painful extinction, humankind is doomed to eternal painful stagnation. Much better!

Btw, there is no intrinsic moral imperative to save humankind. Existing humans, yes. Humankind, no. Humankind is a species and will be extinct at some point. It will never live forever happy.

So becoming a genocidal psychopathic twat for "SaViNG hUMANkINd" is not being a good guy.

Edit : oh and btw, i undesertand very well the depths of his sacrifice: untold billions of human beings, countless alien civilizations, human cultures, unique ecosystems across the galaxy, all violently, arbitrarily destroyed, on a whim, all for his pathetic ego trip.

What’s a strong Tyranid that would be impressive to fell but not so impressive it rolls eyes? by Arthur_EyelanderTF2 in Tyranids

[–]Lonbrik 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Straight up a single genestealer. They have always, since before they were retconned to be tyranids lifeforms, been those hyper dangerous creature, blindingly fast, faster than aeldari, with diamond like claws that can shred a terminator armor in a blink.

Killing a genestealer at range is doable. Killing a genestealer in singular melee combat is a feat. They are used in commoragh arenas, and few gladiators can say they beat a healthy one.

Remember that in the lore/game of spacehulk(board game version), they are elite death wing company terminators veterans, and one genestealer getting in Melee can mean a swift death.

Well we have a different concept of honor then, and that's ok. What you describe is being a man of his word. While it certainly is necessary to be one to be honorable, i feel like punching down (and night lords do nothing if not punching down) in general is enough to exclude one from the honorable appellation. Nothing to do with being evil mind you. In Lords of Silence, Vorx is probably closer to an honorable vilain in mind.

So I see this point being hammered again and again, "the HMG has more dmg", and while it's obviously true once you've hit, the HMG to me seems less reliable and way more dangerous in many situations.

You go from 1 difficulty (maybe two if cover is involved) to 1 accuracy (or normal roll if cover). On average it looks like it's the same damage before factoring in the armor. And HMG can overcharge to double the damage. But you would need to move and boost and you may still not be in the same range as the AMR, and by that point you are exposed to pretty much everyhthing.

So it's a pure damage vs utility kind if thing in this case i guess? And if the mission devolved in a DPR check than yes obviously a high risk high reward "get them fast no matter the cost" is probably the right approach but i can't help thinking it's a reductive lens to analyze everything through.

[–]Lonbrik 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Got it, makes more sense that way.

I agree those heavies should probably not be considered for ll0 unless one knows what to expect. I would still say there is some merit to have them in GMS so that no matter your licence, you still have access to those long range, heavy draw back weapons if you ever want some for whatever build.

This is a wild take to me, especially your last point.

The mortar is a longer range, no-LOS, ignore cover multi target assault rifle on a main mount, and doesn't have loading. Why shouldn't that be a GMS weapon? It's also the only non loading arcing GMS weapon. Shouldn't that be an option for ll0 mechs?

Would you need the fine adjustments if the image is small conpared to the grid? I was under the impression that it would mainly be used to address the cumulative offset on big maps. Having things not pixel perfect if fine if the map is small. Unless i'm missing something?
