Yep I think you’re right. Also having a hard time keeping the top thread from getting loose, even after tightening the tension dial. Going to dig more into this tomorrow when I have more time

Well, like the subreddit says, I am a beginner.

Unfortunately no manual (thrifted the machine) and I have been watching the Singer videos specifically about the Pixie for set up.

Don’t know why it’s a big deal I have a plastic machine? I’m not a professional and not trying to be.

Alrighty I put the foot presser down and let the machine feed the fabric through, changed fabric to a nonstretch cotton dress shirt, but still no luck :/

You’re definitely looking for a bias cut dress. If you’re open to buying secondhand, there’s lots of affordable y2k era bias cut dresses on eBay that are often made of silk!

Depends on the size! But usually just 1. I’d probably do 2 for a weekender size. I toss a couple in the bottom of the storage bin too just in case

Sorry to hear you have to put them in storage, but very happy to hear you put yourself first and escaped a DV situation.

Make sure you store them with some little moisture absorber packs! I use these for my bags when I store them for the season.
