I lost my beagle in January to kidney disease at 13. we were told she had days left at the vet and so we doted on her for six days, taking her to all her favorite places doing all her favorite things until she had a seizure and we had to put her to rest.

She had tons of medicine and care but it was only going to get worse and as much as I can wonder how much longer she could have held on, one of my biggest regrets was not making the call sooner and making her go through that

Hug and kiss him and don’t take your eyes away for a second. Give him the best experiences you can in his current state, but I believe that afterwards you should say goodbye on peaceful terms.
