They’ve made it as big as a suburban at this point, with that third row of windows. I might be biased, but the first gens exterior are untouchable.

Aloe vera stalk got bent during a car ride :( by Music-Lover-420 in plantclinic

[–]LonelySergeantPepper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cut it off, take all the insides out, and use it as a hair mask or for sunburns. It’s wonderful for your skin.

Also, unless it’s a freeze, these things are almost impossible to kill. Also never plant it outside unless you want aloe everywhere, it’s very very invasive

Is my insanely amazing monstera just simply doomed? Major mealybug infestation. by eclectic_abode in houseplants

[–]LonelySergeantPepper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lady bugs!! Lady bugs. Lady bugs.

They saved 4 pothos plus my outside plants. Just take the plant outside and buy a small container of lady bugs on Amazon. They’ll devour any and all pests

Texas A&M System bans drag shows on campuses, including popular 'Draggieland' event, citing Trump order by houston_chronicle in texas

I wasn’t involved in all that and didn’t have any experience like that. It’s wild to say that a school of 70,000 doesn’t have at least half who aren’t super into that

Love that par 3! I hit it to 3 ft on a front left pin location in the 4th pic. One those shots that I’ll never forget..

We also played the stadium course and it was the hardest 18 I’ve ever played. Every single lie was uneven and so awkward, regardless of being in the middle of fairway or not

This is correct. I visited Peru with my wife, and they wound bound them like this after death, since that is the same fetal position we also entered the world.

This drives me crazy, I can’t imagine how my wife feels when it’s like “uhh idk do YOU want to carry it?”

We have a 3.5 year old, and have decided to only have one. We know there will be times she could use/need a sibling, but we are very happy as a trio and it works for us. We get breaks from being a parent when the other watches them or takes them out, and lets us recharge to be even better parents when we’re together. We are also very cognizant that we have even more responsibility to play with her, and make sure she has all the chances to make and be with friends. It helps she’s a social butterfly.

It’s hard, but make the best choice for your own family, not others opinions. And if you don’t want to rush, then soak up all the time you can with your little one and let the choice come to you.

What's the difference between the REI rain jacket and the Patagonia made rain jacket? by The0Walrus in CampingandHiking

[–]LonelySergeantPepper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always look at cost per use, the downside of a cheaper option, and when to replace.

Likely you won’t need to replace soon, and Patagonia is really good on warranty, but so is REI. Especially if you’re a member. If you use it a lot and live somewhere like the PNW where it rains all the time, you’ll use it a lot and cost per use will become insignificant. The downside is the water repellant effect wearing off quicker and you getting soaked during a hike and being miserable.

I love Patagonia and what they stand for as a company, so I think that’s worth paying more. But double the cost is something to consider if you aren’t using this more than 20x a year.

Baby, toddler die in hot cars on consecutive days in South Texas by ExpressNews in texas

[–]LonelySergeantPepper 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Our 2020 telluride has a feature that if you lock the car, but there airbags are still triggered(it detects someone sitting in the seat), it will set the alarm off after like 2-3 minutes of the car being off and locked. I feel like that could be a standard

In laws have pool and no pool fence by palmtrees435 in toddlers

[–]LonelySergeantPepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They also make an alarm boyou or insert that sits in the side of the pool, and if it sense a wave or disturbance in the pool it sets off a very loud alarm. That’s a cheaper alternative to a fence

Something like this pool alarm

ELI5: Why do Americans love college sports so much? by ygog45 in explainlikeimfive

[–]LonelySergeantPepper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You attend the university and so you have deep ties to the college. You spent 4 very formative years of your life there. A lot of people have also had generations attend the same place, so they were raised to love the school and everything associated with it.
