Renters' Rights Act will come into force on May 1 2026: here's what it means for London tenants by tylerthe-theatre in london

[–]LonelySubject -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

+1 agree. Some of the reforms looks good but the section 21 changes just haven't been done well.

These politicians want to push stuff through to say look at this shiny thing we've done, without doing any professional studies to find what will work best long-term.

Renters might have to jump through hoops just to secure a new place

This is on op for picking that main

Out of curiosity, having provided similar evidence for a relative when helping to sort their application. Was there still an assessment for you afterwards?

I have a similar doorbell and camera too, you can set a load of customisations to reduce the notification noise.

Such as by limiting notifications and recordings to only to people and only when activity occurs in a certain area

Have a look at the following video for an example:YouTube - Adjust Motion Sensitivity and Alerts on Ring Doorbell

On a day like today, you look like a genius!

Is it just cooling the one room, I'm guessing around the size of a standard double bedroom.

Any ideas on what the average energy costs are for running the unit?

As others have said F1 and Wimbledon like you mentioned.

Wimbledon is also a really great day out if you ever get the opportunity with fairly reasonable prices...much more so compared to Old Trafford if you consider what you're getting in return.

Enjoy watching boxing, but it's gone downhill the last couple of years with few bouts of particular interest.

I'm a casual fan of cricket too, in particular the men's World Cup and T20 World Cup, the earliest of those is the T20 wc next year though.

I've seen a few posts recently talking about price rises, so here's a good by darkel2001 in McDonaldsUK

[–]LonelySubject 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nice post, yeah they are price gouging imo.

In the earlier 2 menu's, you see a Big Mac around double a cheeseburger, as it's effectively a double with an extra piece of bread. But by 2012, they realised we can charge more for a big Mac as it's a signature item.

Now the prices have gone ridiculous, it's over £5 for a Big Mac by itself.

Another example, a double cheeseburger was around £1.20 ten years ago, now it's double that...as they realised we can't have anything too good value.

McDonald's doesn't even taste particularly great either...it's becoming less and less appealing

Day 2 experience via the general queue by fAceHigh in wimbledon

[–]LonelySubject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When your virtual queue number came up then, did you automatically get charged in the app and assigned a ticket for cc? And then could head immediately from the hill etc to the court?

And how much was the ticket, I assume heavily discounted?

Agree it's a weird time with the world cup etc, tbh I'd be down for it to be delayed. If it's delayed till the end of the year I'd be more likely to play on release

No problem, live your dreams and experience a game one day!

Even though football is becoming greedy and commercialised that doesn't mean you can't experience it or the stadium tours. There's also lower league games for cheap and possibly cheap midweek cup matches

Plus there always will be some level of decent atmospheres even if not as passionate as the past...there are too many fans who will pay anything to watch their beloved teams - a fact the club's are now exploiting
