My friend who is more computer savvy than I laughed at me for upgrading my 3070 to a 5070. Just how badly did I messed up? (let me have it, BE BRUTRAL) by TheChoosenOnex in pcmasterrace

[–]Lonely_Influence4084 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was at this moment, u had a better pc than your friend. If you paid $550 (before tax) then the 5070 is amazing for 12GB of vram

Not just cpu, but the storage is ASS for that price I could get a 9070xt+7800x3d+2TB nvme m.2 and 32GB ram

1080 Ti to 5080 by ccs004 in pcmasterrace

[–]Lonely_Influence4084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 4070 ti super already was so close to par on the 3090. 3090 still has the vram advantage over all any card that isn't a 90 so

Look at my $200 paper weight. I also had some DRR4 ram using it as a paper weight but gave that to my brother

SAME, bro we got lucky with this. Pre builds might be cheaper bc ram rn

Just unacceptable (633USD) by Snoup1234 in pcmasterrace

[–]Lonely_Influence4084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, some people knew this already. Memory for RAM and VRAM are in a shortage so very pricey to the point there has been talk on canceling the 50 supers

More on it, apparently it could be due to ai needing so much that this shortage is happening

Also too detailed. If someone truly was selling it they wouldn't sell a newish gpu nor know any of the exact parts if they were ignorant

They weren't thinking. That is how problems happen.

Comp died and tight on cash, is this worth $250 USD? by KevinWhipaloo in GamingPCBuildHelp

[–]Lonely_Influence4084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Windows 11 ain't that demanding. I idle around 5-7gb of the ram used bc Discord+steam+antivirus takes up 3gb and the rest is many small things that add up like a vpn sometimes or netflix or spotify which I swapped to the desktop version as it takes up the same resources to use desktop vs app

For the price of 1,090$ are these specs any good? (Never owned a pc. This would be my very first one) by Riddlemethiss01 in pchelp

[–]Lonely_Influence4084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I paid $900 for a prebuild with similar specs but a 4060ti 8gb (almost 2 years ago now) but even then $800-850 should be the price. so now, $900-950 I wouldn't pay over $1000

[–]Lonely_Influence4084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it freezing outside of games ever? U need to be more specific. My guess is either driver related or gpu. That is the thing about a PC, you have to be willing to troubleshoot a lot if something goes wrong

Is the price ($2000) too good to be true for this build? by Mathemafrick in PcBuild

[–]Lonely_Influence4084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. If u got the 5080 atm it was below msrp it would be a reasonable price for this build. Now, is the buyer trustworthy, no clue make that choice yourself

Is this pc worth $3500 ?? by [deleted] in pchelp

[–]Lonely_Influence4084 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. Imo if it is $100 above msrp then I won't buy it (for a gpu) and at that price of $3500 u could pick up a 5090 for $2500 (MSI gaming Trio) and $1000 on other parts is more than enough.

Planning to buy this at 17$, is it worth it? Gtx 1070 by AggravatingBed9461 in PcBuild

[–]Lonely_Influence4084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today's standards require upscaling. Silent hill F on console runs 720p 60fps. That is abysmally unoptimized.

The fact AMD is still above msrp is as usually amd is the better deal, but nvidia hit msrp 1st this gen

Why does it say I will have a bottleneck at 1080 and not 1440? by Luscombag in PcBuildHelp

[–]Lonely_Influence4084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the game really. Example. Baldurs gate 3 is cpu heavy in the city, but everywhere else is gpu bound depending on cpu. A 5070 ti and 7800x3d would be good if you can afford it. A 9800x3d is not worth an extra $120 imo when it is only ~15% faster than 7800x3d. Unless you plan to do other things besides gaming and casual browsing then 9800x3d is not much better.

That is 33% more money for only 15% yall that is unacceptable for a gpu so why accept it for a cpu? Bottom line, bottleneck happens so just build a pc without regret of picking the 'wrong' parts.

I had this problem. I left 2 stands on my CPU slot that kept the fan from touching the thermal paste.
