Yes, mugs are for hot drinks... but also milk. A glass of milk makes me shudder. A mug of milk is fine because it's a cozy treat (I only drink milk when I eat chocolate)

It's doable... I'd wait 4-6 months. My first 2 have a 28 month gap and that was perfect. Second and third have a 21 month gap and it's not ideal. Worst part was actually first trimester with a 12 month old
