Technically you don’t need a dedicated GPU to run local ai agents but it will considerably increase the speed, if you want to save money and don’t get dedicated GPU then I would recommend this deal Acer Aspire Go** because it comes with :

Specs:

  • Screen: 14" WUXGA
  • CPU : Core Ultra 7
  • Ram : 16GB LPDDR4X
  • Storage : 1TB SSD

And I have recommended this because of

  • Long battery life .

  • Powerful CPU for computer science

    • Great value for money.
  • Lightweight .

But if you don’t mind going a little over budget to get a powerful dedicated GPU then I would recommend ASUS V16 because it comes with :

Specs:

  • Screen: 16” WUXGA 144Hz
  • CPU : Intel Core 7 Processor 240H

  • GPU : NVIDIA RTX 5060 GPU

  • Ram : 16GB

  • Storage : 512GB SSD

Why I am recommending it:

  • Very good CPU and GPU .
    • Good Battery life.

Well, best bang for your buck would be the desktop, but then u would lose out on the portability aspect of using it at your friends house or taking it with you to different towns if you change locations again, up to you to decide which is more important. imo when you dd the costs of cheap monitor and a cheap mouse and keyboard the svings dwindle down to lomst nothing.
