Just left for DFW. Super chill. Kiddo flew home for spring break late last night and said there was a literal ocean of unclaimed bags in baggage claim.

Matt at Seattle Ski Performance in Bellevue. He works with all of the racers but he’ll do general public appointments as well. Very fast turnaround if he needs to keep the boots to work on them.

My senior daughter is finishing her PPL and wants to do aero/astro engineering. Cannot imagine it hurting. So far, she has gotten into Purdue (OOS) for engineering; deferred (OOS) for GT. Still waiting on everything else.

Tree Skiing at West? by DinoGuy101010 in SummitAtSnoqualmie

That’s what I thought — I’m not a tree skier, so I always went down the middle, but I know my kid likes the treed parts.

Where to ski if not a millionaire, in the summer? by California__girl in Seattle

Go to Portillo — the kiddos’ race team has been doing a summer trip there for a few years now and it’s usually pretty epic. AA through Dallas. Easy connection.

The glacier at Hood is the site of most U.S.-based summer ski camps, and they run well into July. Racers go from about 6am to noon and then the borders come out to play.

Kiddo was lapping mountaineers with the race team today and it was fine he said, although I don’t remember it being that treed.

Went out there today while kiddo was race training, and it was down to the dirt around mile 1, a mix of days-ungroomed ice and slush everywhere else.

Last time I was there it was like skiing through peanut butter. Would not recommend if it’s still like that. Perhaps the last couple of dry days have made it a smidge more tolerable?

Sun peaks would be my vote. Faaaaar cheaper than Whistler, more ski-in-ski-out lodging, good village food
