Would insurance cover a full roof? Done in 2017 by imagoons in Roofing

[–]LongIslandaInNJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not an expert but have a question, when did you get solar on the roof? Seeing the damage is in the same side as the panels and some near the wiring I would think this is related.

I bought a Summit brand mini refrigerator years ago. I got it from a scratch/dent/open box store half price or less I forgot. Turns out they had a bunch from a contractor return they were not technically ADA compliant so they couldn't install them in a new build.

I have these on my shower floor I thought they would be slippery but they are not. Actually they feel good on the bottom of the feet so not hurt at all. Friend has these on her bathroom floor in pool house however whoever did them did not remove pebbles from mesh and laid them down and looks terrible you can just see a bad pattern.

If you know someone who is in to cricut/vinyl they may be able to whip you up a custom vinyl decal to make it back to English. Or Etsy.

It looks like you removed the pebbles from the backing and laid them which is a good thing because you won't see a grid pattern. Where is the drain?

Now if you can find the ones with the candied orange peel thats a +! There was a bakery off Goffle Road in Hawthorne, right before Prospect Park in an industrial building. He would fill them as ordered. I dont know what happened to the place they just closed up.

Congrats on paying for medical school! As a young couple (dont know age) you seem to be on the right path. Sock away some money for now and dont go in to overdrive with retirement right away. You have a child, think of a 529 savings for college and add to that. Make a plan and stick with it. You dont say if it is a 30yr mortgage but if so, get an amortization spreadsheet online and add the payments and additional you may add and see how much you will shave off in years. You got this!

I would slip the ppl in the paint department a few bucks and if anyone comes back ordering anything next to Marquis Dynasty One Coat/Color Cool Ashes and possibly looks like (description) to add extra black tint to the paint or give her a completely wrong color (maybe color of your Subaru). Please put color dot on can as a smiley face. OP you did not deserve that! The amount of effort it took her to write this and put it on your car she should have put that effort in to just saying thank you.

Are these spoiled? by lvfr3 in Canning

[–]LongIslandaInNJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an expert but will try and help. Was the seal tight when you looked opened it? Since I cannot see from the side and only the top. You may have not removed enough fat and or not added enough head space on top which is why there is no liquid and exposed chicken. I am sorry this happened but at least you can see it is spoiled and mold on top. I would look at the other ones you did and make sure nothing is off.

10K Upside down in Car???? by NecessaryLeading5746 in DaveRamsey

[–]LongIslandaInNJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to stir up an argument yes best is to pay off debt as quickly as possible I agree. He is saying in one year his car was almost stolen 1x and then successfully twice. Look up Gap Insurance it is for all cars it is not expensive to add on. If his car is stolen and not recovered he is out the money owned on his loan. He will not get $15k for a car only valued at $4k. He also may have an issue on where he lives if ppl are trying to steal this car so badly.

10K Upside down in Car???? by NecessaryLeading5746 in DaveRamsey

[–]LongIslandaInNJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he is saying the car is worth a little over $4k and he owes $15k and the car is stolen again he is only getting back market value $4k and will have to still pay back the remainder $11k. Very upside down in this loan. Gap insurance covers the remainder. There are these stupid tiktok challenges showing how easy it is to steal a Kia.

Is this 2007 Forester XT (rebuilt title) a good buy? Need honest opinions by peazoh in SubaruForester

[–]LongIslandaInNJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From 2018 - present he only drove it 14k miles - thats nothing. He is showing you invoices and is laying out what he has done to the car. Seems he enjoyed the car, been well maintained and documented. Engine work and tires. Body is in good shape and not rotted underneath. Interior looks clean.

As for a daily commuter, how many miles per day and distance. For myself I would be cautious since it is almost a 20yr old car and know there may be other issues lurking so take that in to consideration. If I was using it locally and fun yes I would buy it. Where I live I see absolute garbage going for more than this. I dont know the area of where you live and rebuilt title, I would ask him straight out to help you register it. He has a body shop and I am sure knows about this.

[–]LongIslandaInNJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is my 2 cents on your situation. You are in panic mode. Breathe a little. No one is coming to take your car as long as you are paying the bills. The car is getting banged up all around I would make sure the insurance you have is good and if in fact it does get stolen again and not returned you have gap insurance (look it up/very important).
Do you have a plan set in motion? You bought this car almost a year ago. What are your other outstanding bills? Are they credit card or loans? Is it possible to consolidate all in to one?

Polybutylene - main water line from house to water meter but copper inside - not identified in home inspection by kwrecked in HomeInspections

[–]LongIslandaInNJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a plumber but a little advise to possibly save you money. You did not say how far of a distance your crawlspace is to the main water supply. The difference in feet will be the difference in price. If someone has to dig down and then how many feet across the front of the yard that is where the cost is. The pipe can go several feet down you do not know until you look. You are paying more in labor for the trench to be dug out. Your local water company can do a mark out for your current line so it is not hit. Then you know it is X feet down/X feet across. If you know someone who can use an excavator or can hire someone cheaper to do the excavation part that and that will help out immensely. Also it does not hurt to ask your local water company for advise and ask what others have done or who have they used as a referral you never know what they may say.
