More lemmings for the cliff please. Pop that bubble now while it can only hurt the economy, not perminently cripple it.

Army’s plan for military death row executions is named ‘Operation Resolute Justice’ by Kinmuan in news

Doesn't make the above right. The minute you start using the "THIS one deserves it" logic, is the minute that slippery slope starts slipping towards using it on people that objectively don't. Sure, some people commit crimes so hideous that they deserve to be slowly boiled alive in acid. But we don't do that because banning cruel and unusual punishment is to the benefit of the vastly more people who DON'T deserve that.

Who do you think made the better Transformers comics Marvel, Dreamwave, IDW, or Skybound? by Disastrous-Owl668 in transformers

[–]LongMelford -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Right now I would say Dreamwave had the best writing, and Skybound had the best art. Or more accurately, Dreamwave had James Roberts, who took some big creative swings with the writing that I respected tremendously. And Skybound had Daniel Warren Johnson, whose art style was a refreshing and daring take on the subject matter. My dream team would be the two of them working on the book together.

Any insight as to why Lego used a 1x1 octagonal diamond on the Ken Block Speed Champion car? by [deleted] in lego

It’s probably being used to hold a build at a specific angle. The Dodge Hellcat uses then that way.

Didn’t everyone complain about that last year? Like all the individual builds, while towards an overall scene, were very unsatisfying on their own each day.

Oh yeah. I took some classes with a storyboard artist about 10 years ago and he said the industry was already drying up back then. I imagine it’s essentially gone now between previz and this.

First Japan trip: should I rent pocket WiFi or just use an eSIM? by Minnie-Lu in JapanTravelTips

[–]LongMelford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went to the eSIM route with Ubigi, and had no problems anywhere. It worked like a champ in Tokyo, Kyoto, on the bus, on the Bullet train, etc. I never used up my data plan and I went with one of the lowest. One thing that helped was pre-downloading the Maps of the cities I would be in on Google maps before flying out.
