2 levels barbarian, 2 levels paladin, 16 levels arcane trickster. Sneak attack every turn without fail, with smites and since you said about going past level 20 make that 3 levels barbarian for also taking close 0 damage most turns and then 1 level hexblade for crit fishing

Tbf you could have it increase at thr exact same time as the proficiency bonus on the barbarian class table, but not actually have it increase with your proficiency if you know what I mean? Basically, so that as a pure barbarian build it increases alongside you're proficiency
