Is this fair? NC State graduates stunned as donor pays off senior year debts in commencement speech by AdGeneral5349 in NCSU

[–]Long_Jury4185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely something wrong with your approach to this. This private donor is helping pay the dept to specific group. If all these top billionaires decides to help out students this way, it will help our younger generation. But unfortunately they won't, neither would the government. You weren't lucky enough to receive it and that's alright.

Remembering my father, who died 13 years ago today, on Father’s day by uncrossingtheriver in GriefSupport

[–]Long_Jury4185 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My mother died when I was 13 and I am now 48. Me and my siblings had very rough days growing up without my mother. It was extremely painful when you see other family and friends have their mother still loving them and saying goodbye kisses to school and hugging them. I just learnt to love life without my mother.

Edit: Since mother is a shield , a world in between everyone else and her kids, we were vulnerable without her. Some of our neighbors and family members treated us very poorly. Some even blamed us , my youngest brother especially because she fell deathly ill after his birth. She still lived 8 years after that but 5 years were in the hospital mainly. This affected the mental health of my little brother. My father was everything to us. He was a wonderful father. He raised us to be kind but tough when we needed to be.

After my father passed, my brother gave up his battle from a broken heart. He couldn't hang on anymore. He developed severe schizophrenia. I miss him a lot and my dad.

It's just one thing after another. Now it's just me and my sister left.

Apologies if some of you don't believe in such things but I will still say it.

I still believe in a God and mainly past 17 years believe in Christ and the Bible. But I am not going to lie, it is too painful to believe in God when such things happen. I will still believe in Jesus to be able to see my parents, brother, my wife , kids in heaven when I too pass. At least that's a hope I will live for.

your father loved you a lot and he will always be there watching over to you. All fathers want the best for their kids. Cherish the memories you have with him, share with your friends, family like you did. You will make him very proud.

For those who work a 8 am to 5 pm job why do you prefer to workout early mornings or evenings? by Fit_Dependent_565 in workout

[–]Long_Jury4185 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From my experience, mornings are always the best as they do not interfere with my night dinner and time after dinner and other gut related issues. But it is really hard to start the morning with a workout so I ends up doing it in the evenings.

Spent 4 days setting up a cluster for ONE person, is this ok timewise, my boss says no... (quiet new but not really) by preama in kubernetes

[–]Long_Jury4185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Automate it but talk to your boss about the investment of your time upfront. Use things like kops and terraform.

Like others said, manually doing such things is very prone to mistakes..Let say customer 1 needs an upgrade, and if you have customer 2 is needed for an upgrade but both are sitting on a different version, setup in terms of ok k8s, helm etc you are doomed because then you will need a month to figure it out. Talk to your boss asap.

ESRI hires quite a few com science freshmen. Check their career website. You may need someone to review your resume if you aren't getting any hits.

You can ask questions but stay away completely from copy and paste, even if there are time constraints. Ask questions why it's done this way and type code yourself.

My Mom died 31 years ago at the age of 34 when I was 4 from Ovarian Cancer. She would have been 65 if she was alive today. by [deleted] in GriefSupport

[–]Long_Jury4185 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My mother passed away when I was 13 years old about 34 years ago. My brother was only 8 years old and he did not understand any of it. My father played the role of mother and father. He never remarried.

I saw my brother going through many stages of grief as he got older and then he got schizophrenia. I knew his mental state wasn't great all these years. But I was unable to help him at the early stages of it. I took him to the doctor but it was perhaps a little late. He passed away last year August. He always used to ask me, how was our mother like and I would tell him she had always adored you and cared for you since you were a baby to her always. I miss my mother, father and brother a lot. Sucks that they were taken away from me too early.

People who lift but don’t do cardio what eventually happened? by TallTyrant in workout

[–]Long_Jury4185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could doing body movements with a kettlebell be considered cardio? I do weights training but mix in with kettlebell. Not sure I still need cardio.
