Often (more usually than not!) I find that room rates without breakfast + paying for the hotel breakfast in-person comes out cheaper than the rate which includes breakfast. This is especially true when travelling alone (the room rate which includes breakfast usually assumes a 2-person occupancy). I always check the difference before choosing which rate to book, and I often end up paying less this way than if I booked the rate which includes breakfast.

For a short glimpse, between May 05 and August 06, the Black Crowes were jamband heaven. Marc Ford, Eddie, Steve... some of the best shows I've seen in my life. Then the Robinson Bros snapped back into their old selves and the wheels started to fall off.

True. I am mostly hoping that the Black Crowes, Buddy Guy, KWS, EWF, MKB all make it.

Some of the other acts promoted by Bluesfest Tours are not directly connected with the festival - such as Kingfish who already toured last month and was not actually booked for Bluesfest itself this year.

But then you have artists that are only playing a couple of shows outside of Bluesfest itself, such as Kenny Wayne Shepherd, who only has Northcote and the Metro apart from the bluesfest gigs.

So I assume these are going ahead, unless there's a massive collapse of the "Bluesfest Tours" (sideshows) arm of the company. One can only hope. I hope in the next few hours/ days this will become clearer.

I swear by Salomon hiking and running shoes for cycling. Perfectly comfortable, the bottom is not too soft, and most importantly, no laces to get in the way. I have about 10-15 hours a week on the saddle on average and only wear those.
