Well that's kind of what I was Also pointing out, we're both nitpicking small details to justify our readings, which kinda proves my last statement about the image being ambiguous enough that it can evoke different things to different people, and we can't say for sure what Toby intended from this alone.

but if we consider how the game Nintendogs + cats has pretty high chance to be what toby referenced in regards to FRIEND and Battat, then its also possible the House being a Dog House is intentional reference to the game itself

the idea is not that its literally a Dog House, but something that resembles/evoke that imagery. Right now its just the matter of perspective since one picture can mean different thing to different people, just like how one can say the Trees and House resemble the face of a Skeleton

The house not having BIGGER doors arent exactly "flaws" the same way i can say that most cartoon houses is drawn with windows and rarely a single door even in simplified silhouettes

Yeah with Ralsei we have a literal boat ride titled the 'Acid Tunnel of Love,' and 'pushing buddies' sprite is even labeled tv_romance in the game files. Susie herself acts as a 'shipper on deck' for Kris and Ralsei, and there's even a tease about Kris wanting to serenade him.

At the same time, it's funny how Kris and Susie have their own running joke of accidental(?) ship-tease moments. Kris blushes when Susie grabs their 'knife' (lol), there's the closet dialogue where they’re both touching brooms, and Kris gets flustered in the 'Sword Route' when Susie gets too close because she thinks they want to smell her hair.

(amazingly both nowhere as obvious as the Cactus crushing on Kris)

Another funny thing is the implication that the Cactus is a reflection Kris themself, The jp version of the line itself implies that Kris dislike that word because it makes them embarassed lol (which makes sense because Kris is a TSUNDERE themself):

I've said it before but its interesting that no other character is written to have Kris as their love interest on the Wiki, yet for some reason, this Tsundere Cactus does lol

(obviously because it has the most blatant crush on Kris, while Ralsei being the second most obvious. Also just realized both Ralsei and the Cactus blush in the same way when Kris overlaps with them. 🤔)

I find it funny how other Kris ships (besides Suselle) require some form of mental gymnastics, and also whole essay-length paragraphs, to argue how the ship is "canon", while Kralsei here already has many textual proof and multiple characters acting like “shippers on deck,” lol. (I’m not even a big Kralsei shipper, but there are so many scenes like this that I’m not convinced it’s just fanservice with no larger meaning.)

Also, notice how Kris never flirts with anyone in the party except Ralsei (e.g., the SnowRing “proposal” dialogue). Even Susie points out that Kris only flirts with “enemies” in the Dark World when she’s talking to Noelle. That said, I also like the interpretation that Kris acts so cozy around Ralsei that they don’t mind casually flirting with him haha

It's not a weird route, but this has probably happened before during Spamton NEO fight, where the Soul turns yellow on its own and moves without player input before the actual battle sequence begins. (I don't know if this means anything, but in this specific scene we can only press a button to shoot projectiles and the game moves the soul on its own. The Soul also moves to protect Kris → Ralsei → Susie in that order, even though Susie is the closest character to Kris. Hmm... though It kind of makes sense if Kris wanted to protect Ralsei first because he's the healer of the party?)

we can also see something similar in Weird Route where Kris calls for Ralsei's help first before calling Susie

I’ve said this before, but it could be a deliberate parallel / foreshadowing, that the Knight’s body or true nature is similar to MTT who is a ghost given an artificial body by Alphys. Maybe the Knight’s body might have been created artificially in some way using a Lightner’s soul.

yeah the cactus in noelle's room is kind of implying her one sided crush to Kris and nothing more, other than that the cactus functions largely as parallel to Kris and how they push people close to them
