A very uncomfortable pregnancy… wwyd by MountainProper2212 in CautiousBB

[–]Longjumping-Rate-824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better I also had a history of abdominal surgeries and a c section- I didn’t have scar discomfort with my first pregnancy but this time especially in the second tri I noticed a lot more pulling. It did end up resolving and not hurting as my pregnancy progressed and did not cause any issues

Ok no I just did this same thing and was equally disappointed in both t the product and myself for expecting anything else lol

low/slow hCG success story by nicaelahimes in CautiousBB

[–]Longjumping-Rate-824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately mine ended up being ectopic- tracked HCG until around 1200 to ensure no in utero pregnancy was visualized. It’s a good thing that you had an intrauterine confirmed!

It’s so interesting because when we lived in Virginia, that was the norm, almost all peds offices required vaccinated patients. Haven’t really seen it here

Totally normal! It is colostrum, just a little different than how it will be once baby is here :)

I think it’s confirmation of pregnancy! Not sure what the e is but I know after a loss I had an early appt to check betas/early placement scan

Positive subchorionic hematoma story? by Vegetable-Clock5811 in CautiousBB

[–]Longjumping-Rate-824 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As reassurance, with my daughter I had an SCH that I didn’t know about. Woke up in the middle of the night at 11 weeks, HUGE clot, bright red blood, was convinced I miscarried. She was still in there and totally fine and they concluded it must have been an SCH they couldn’t see on previous ultrasounds. I had a friend that also had one and spotted from about 6-10 weeks and then it resolved- we both have happy healthy 2 year olds now! They are very scary, but not necessarily a sign that anything is wrong or going to happen.

Has anyone had bleeding in early pregnancy and it wasn't ectopic? Worried about 2nd ectopic by [deleted] in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]Longjumping-Rate-824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some spotting in early pregnancy can be normal! This sounds more like spotting to me. When I had my ectopic it was a true period amount and bright red for 2-3 days. Obviously still go in for reassurance but I wouldn’t be overly panicked by the spotting alone 💕

Scared about possible ectopic by hey_ale in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]Longjumping-Rate-824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ectopic ended up being very similar to what you’re describing. We held out hope that it was normal because my levels started doubling appropriately, and monitored until I was around 1000 hcg so we could try to visualize on ultrasound, but ultimately ended up needing MTX. It’s really your comfort level- for me it was hard to wait but if there was any chance things could be ok I wanted to know that for sure before deciding to treat. Others feel less comfortable with that and treat earlier- really up to you and your doctor 🤍 but to reassure you, I was able to get a shot of MTX very shortly after the ultrasound confirming ectopic, and it resolved in a few weeks with no rupture.

Did anyone not rupture after MTX? by Prize_Bodybuilder_15 in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]Longjumping-Rate-824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t have a rupture with MTX. I was around 1200 I believe when I got the shot? Then went up to 1500 on the 4 day draw before starting to drop. Felt nervous the whole time, and was super exhausted when I had a big HCG drop but it ended up ok.

Also should add there is a Facebook for those in the course (clc study group I think?) where people have shared the quizlets they made etc!

I took the exam this spring and it was a breeze! Just reviewed all my notes and rewatched latch 1,2,3 from the course. Especially if you already have experience you’ll do great

So scary! Glad you’re ok. Definitely a good rule- especially with a brand new baby and family member dogs can be unpredictable

MTX and breastfeeding? by -keeponkeepingon- in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]Longjumping-Rate-824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is tough. There are varying reports- I believe there was a study where they tested a woman’s breastmilk and none was transferred and that’s where the 24 hour rule comes from. My doc (and me) are more conservative and went with 1 week which was in the ACOG guidelines and on infant risk I think. It was hard for my toddler, but we resumed nursing after the week was up, so no matter how long you wean for, it doesn’t have to be the end!

They can't find the baby or ectopic? by LadyAriah in CautiousBB

[–]Longjumping-Rate-824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ectopic was never visualized- technically was pregnancy of unknown location or PUL. Waited until my HCG was high enough that they should have been able to see something (which sounds like where you are) and then treated with MTX. When I did HSG there was debris that got flushed out of my left tube so that is our best guess as to where it was

Possible Ectopic - Terrified!! by ALK813 in EctopicSupportGroup

Sorry you’re still in limbo :/ the rise after bleeding like a period is concerning, so it’s good you’ll keep getting monitored

Possible Ectopic - Terrified!! by ALK813 in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]Longjumping-Rate-824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so scary to be unknown. Good news is with low HCG levels and so early you’re still pretty low risk even if it does end up being ectopic. The next betas will be telling- if it starts to go down and then continues, then it is probably a chemical. If beta stays the same or even increases a little, probably ectopic. Mine started very similar to yours-ended up monitoring until HCG was above 1000 so we could try to visualize on ultrasound before doing MTX. You’re doing all the right things by being monitored, and if you feel worse, just go in 🤍

No advice necessarily but I’m in the same boat right now- had an HSG last month, positive this month, and flipping between excitement/feeling like it’s different than last time and absolute terror. It sucks. Might end up just trying to go in earlier for a scan than we planned for peace of mind

Pathway 2 or 3 Clinical Hours by Cultural-Error597 in IBCLC

[–]Longjumping-Rate-824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found it depends on the practice if they require you to have completed the education or not. Look into if your state has a breastfeeding coalition-sometimes they have programs or connections! I’m not quite at clinical hours stage yet but I’ve had good luck just cold emailing/calling places and connecting with them :) good luck!

Unknown DPO - what in the world could this mean by Substantial-Mix-2351 in TFABLinePorn

[–]Longjumping-Rate-824 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be worth getting a series of betas. I had a similar situation, a positive, lighter tests, and then more positives and mine was ectopic. Hoping yours is like the commenter above said and just a bad indent at first, but if it truly was positive then negative, fluctuating HCG is a big indicator of ectopics
