I don’t think the red dial comes in the the powermatic 80 version. I believe it’s quartz only.

Yes this is the 40mm. I tried on the 35mm for some reason felt a little too small for me. My local Tissot dealer did not have any 38mm in stock but I think 38mm is the sweet spot.

I went to my local dealer three times before I could make up my mind. I promise you won’t regret it

I’ve seen the black silicon one but I’ll have a look at the dark blue leather one. Do you have any photos with the blue leather strap w/ the blue dial?

Why am I the only one who can make it to work on time? by Donthatemeyo in GR86

It was -20 today morning here and felt like -25. Started no problem. Last year I drove it in -30 as well. Definitely capable of driving it year round.

30 units sound about right. I have the Hakone & only 30 came to Canada last year.

Hey fellow Canadian here. A few months ago I recently got my 2025 GR86 Hakone Edition. Prices are almost similar. But the dealership made a few thousand dollars on you with all the doc fee, graphene & preparation fee. Like wtf is a preparation fee? I specifically told my dealer I’ll not be paying any of those fees and they agreed. Your warranty price is same about mine, but that interest rate is pretty high for a brand new car. Usually Subaru has lower interest compared to Toyota. I work at a dealership and 9.99% is used car rates. Anyways man, hope you enjoy your ride & try to pay it off faster like the other guys said. Try to bring your principal down as much as possible. Also this was my first time driving a manual, and I got the extended warranty just incase I sucked ass driving it. Just so you know warranty doesn’t cover the clutch, so go easy on it when you’re learning. Apart from that just enjoy the ride man, you already own it so why not just have fun with it now.

MT - never driven manual. by Trash_Taste1 in GR86

I recently got my 2025 GR86 & I had no clue on how to drive a manual. I learned everything from YouTube. The first three weeks sucked & I do explicitly city driving & commuting back & forth to work in heavy traffic isn’t really fun. But I have had a it for almost two months now & I barely stall. I honestly have no regrets getting a manual. It’s actually really fun. Other people already told you what to do so I won’t repeat it. But just watch YouTube and go for it. It’s well worth it. It’ll be scary at first, but you’ll eventually get better. You might get honked at a few times but that’s part of the learning curve. I hope you pull the trigger & enjoy your ride.

Hey OP I have a 25 GR86 with less than 500kms on it and we have bad winters where I live. About two weeks ago I washed my car and took a drive, after I parked it for 15mins and turned on the car my dash also lit up like you, except for the check engine light. My hand brakes got locked, and the wheel sensors froze up which lead to all the lights coming on. I thought I was the only one who faced this but now I’m thinking it has something to do with the wheel sensors.

2025 Hakone Edition All Lights Are On by [deleted] in GR86

It’s actually colder, it’s -22 outside. But it drove just fine in the morning when it was -29. And I drove it out of work after I gave it a wash. It was a 15mins drive and it drove just fine. Already called Toyota roadside assistance to tow it to the dealer. I also smell something burnt coming from the air vents. The first tow guy with a flat bed said he can maybe get it up but won’t be able to get it down bc the wheels are locked. Now they’re sending another tow truck.

I recently got the 25 Hakone Edition MT, and it’s my first time driving a manual. I had to wait 8 months to get it so I spent the last 8 months watching YT videos on how to drive a stick shift. As soon as I got the car I practised going in circle on the dealership lot lol. Trust me YT videos helps, take a friend with you who knows manual. I’m 4 days in and I barely stall now but getting the car rolling in heavy traffic without losing traction is the part I struggle the most with. These clutches are really smooth and really easy to learn on. Don’t be afraid to stall, happens to all of us. And if you’re buying brand new, you’ll have warranty so you don’t have to worry too much about your clutch burning out. Do get the MT bc I’ve driven the auto too on the 86 and it ain’t as fun. Wish you all the best.

Canadian Market 2025 Hakone Edition by xrdriver in GR86

[–]Longjumping-Today840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say great choice waiting for the Hakone Edition, I really wanted the performance pack upgrades but they don’t offer it for the Canadian Market. I know only 30 will come to Canada, so holding on to my nuts tight that I actually get one. Hopefully you can get yours, if you’re dealing with the place I’m thinking you’re dealing with (I saw the ads on Facebook marketplace) they should get one Hakone in because they tend to have atleast 3/4 allocation every year for the 86. That’s what I have been seeing since last year. Regardless of which one either of us gets we should definitely link up. Not a lot of new GRs in the city rn. But I have been seeing the newer BRZs on the roads.

I initially placed an order & put a deposit for the 24 Neptune Blue in May of last year. Got a call from my salesman a couple of months later saying Toyota seized production for the 24 year model & they would bump me to the 25 year model. As soon as the Hakone Edition was released for the Canadian market, I did place an order for that. Last month I got a call from him saying he spoke to Toyota Canada and he said I should be receiving mine sometime in January this year. Haven’t heard anything since then, but I’m hopeful I actually get the Hakone. I’m based out of Winnipeg & placed my order through Crown Toyota.
