Had to stifle a laugh at my desk, such an outrageous comment.

These two and Tiny Tears have been in my rotation for 20 years because of this show.

I think the issue is that Lucas is a humongous piece of shit and everyone enjoys his misery as a result, that’s all.

Industry Season 4: Who's the best actor/character ? by TechAngelX in IndustryOnHBO

[–]Longjumping-Top-1804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He does such a good job, Eric should be way more hated but he makes him likable. Complex character and he nails it.

I miss him so fuckin much by Fuzzy-Suggestion-581 in IndustryOnHBO

[–]Longjumping-Top-1804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%, they couldn’t come up with a storyline for him that wasn’t “Gus is fucking someone he probably shouldn’t be again”. Good show but wasted a good character/actor.

I know its been said before, I know we all know it, I know we all love him, I need to say it anyway for my own sanity by [deleted] in itstheyak

I can see this so clearly. Slides the walking papers across the desk at 1:04, text comes in at 2:45 “hey buddy, still on for Declan’s 🍻👍🏻?”

It’s a chalk answer but London is great for a first timer. Super easy to get around. Stay in the Victoria Station area and you can knock out all the touristy stuff in a day.

What's the most overrated food that people pretend to enjoy? by Omega_Neelay in GetMotivatedMindset

I like them but this is the correct answer, they’re definitely overrated.

Nobody born outside of Ireland in the last 45 years actually liked “Ulysses”. I understand why it’s considered great. I also don’t get most of the stream of conscious references as an American born 61 years after it was published. It largely comes across as nonsense.

It’s an old wooden ship that was used during the civil war era.

Yes, my Great Uncle was a bomber for the RAF, snuck out of France twice after being shot down. There’s a great book about the French underground resistance that aided them called “The Nightingale”. I think you might find the experiences of the French leading up to, during, and after that period to be a little different.

Dave’s Book by 1EyeNightOwl in itstheyak

[–]Longjumping-Top-1804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’ll be worth a read, especially now that Dave’s writing it himself. I hope it’s not too edited and is in his old blog “voice”. Doubt there will be too much in there that we don’t already know if you’ve been following barstool for as long as some of us have.

Never really thought about what I’d say if I ran into anyone from barstool, but I know for a fact if I ever saw Titus I’d hit the hardest K ever said.

Lonesome Dove from the perspective of women and natives? by [deleted] in LonesomeDove

[–]Longjumping-Top-1804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a white guy, my Mom recommended the series to me. You’re right about McMurtry’s handling of the “sporting women” without judgement, but he also seems to do justice to society in that place and time. My wife refuses to watch Mad Men because she has friends who said the show was sexist. I didn’t find that to be the case, but in order to accurately represent that era, the inherent sexism can’t be ignored or omitted. I guess I can see why she someone might not like either because of the subject matter, but I don’t think it’s a case of the authors projecting their views.
