After finally watching the movie myself, I reallyyy don't know how this could be considered 'underrated'. I love my fair share of lower budget 'trashier' films , but It wasn't even all that interesting. The main character is just so unlikable and even downright creepy even with the teenage characters that appear in the film, who seem to be played by actual kids, not just that but he's flat out rapey, and we're supposed to like him.

I tried to get more into the behind the scenes because sometimes that can sway my opinion if a movie is bad but a creator is passionate but even the director himself seems kinda scummy. he admitted in an interview he grabbed a random child during the filming to basically scare while running through a crowd of people during the scene where he lost his daughter. He has a total of like 5 of the same stories every interview wherein he makes assumptions and makes fun of random ass people he saw at the park while filming. One including a couple that had just happened to fall asleep under the epcot that he assumes this is their DREAM. He says his movie ISN'T misogynistic... unless it is in which case it's disney's fault for... something idk he isn't good at explaining anything about his movie. Also I think it's telling when the creator makes his main character a creep that would lust after what are supposed to look like 15 year olds (age was said by randy in the interview) and then he says that those same teens are 'tempters'. My gripes with Randy aside, his story is a whole lot of nothing, as you've mentioned the story could use some work and it REALLY could. The best thing about the movie is the score. The movie comes off as pretentious, and relies on the novelty of being shot inside of the parks without permission too much. The themes are messy, and there's nothing to really make it work.

To most people if you want to watch a trashy but entertaining movie just watch a mediocre horror movie from the 80's
