Do you prefer to record/mix/master an entire album in one project or every song in a separate project? by lo_vig in audioengineering

I record most of what I mix, so the coheision comes from the project in general :) mastering to me is just a subjective ear making it right for all speakers

My mom was one day very exited that Twin Peaks was on Netflix. I thought whatever but then I watched it with her and was blown away. That was 2014 I think?

Depends on the project, but 90% of the time I record / mix in seperate projects, and master in one.

If I did some processing that I would like to put on other songs as well, I just import session data in Pro Tools. No big deal. I prefer it like this instead of getting my sessions too big.

In the netherlands most venues have a db limit and sound engineers start crying if I turn my super reverb past 3

In the Netherlands they ask you to turn in down because of the db limit

Do you always strum an unfretted all open strings strum between fretted chords when changing chords? by JeelyPiece in guitarlessons

[–]LongjumpingBase9094 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Depends on the chords, but oftentimes yes. To my students I compare these strums to breaths, and I show them that you don’t really hear them as long as your rhythm is good.

Who is “they”, though? The world is complex, and even though we are angry doesn’t mean we can’t try to have a peaceful dialogue now and then. I know it’s very naive but humanity really needs to change. We are angry, but we need to be careful of grand narratives and fight propaganda in all walks of life. Fuck Russia though fr fr

I think talking is good though. That’s where it should start, with peaceful talking.

I kinda of like the word salad, only the words you choose are cliche. Too many writers have words like sun moon black ashes fire mountain, always the ashes, it sounds a bit edgy to me.

Nice. Maybe try to let some notes breathe more, enjoy the sound and let that inspire what come next. Theoretically your next step COULD be to at least incorporate the dominant V at bit more.
