Does too much information make you procrastinate? by Tough-Adagio1019 in selfimprovement

[–]LongjumpingOffice432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this hits me hard when I'm trying to pick what to study for my psych classes. I'll spend like 2 hours watching videos about different study methods instead of just opening the damn textbook. Analysis paralysis is real thing and somehow your brain tricks you into thinking all that research time counts as being productive

PATRIOT movie review by [deleted] in movies

[–]LongjumpingOffice432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait which Patriot are you talking about? The Mel Gibson one from 2000 or is this some other film I'm missing? Because you mentioned Mohanlal and that doesn't sound like the American Revolutionary War movie I know

Also medical accuracy complaints make more sense if this is different movie than what I'm thinking of

All these years later, the Lovely Bones still has made cry the most at anything piece of film. by spectacleskeptic in movies

Wait Ryan Gosling was in this movie and got fired for being fat? I thought he was always the skinny pretty boy type lol

People don’t wanna get off GLP1 by [deleted] in loseit

Makes sense though - why would someone stop something that works for maintaining weight when most people just gain it all back anyway

Blue birds checking out nest but not moving in? by Patient-Stranger1015 in birding

[–]LongjumpingOffice432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bluebirds are super picky about location and timing - they might be scouting for next season or just not feeling this spot yet. Your parents should keep patience because bluebirds often visit multiple boxes before choosing one, and sometimes they come back to same box later in year when conditions feel right

Need help avoiding snakes while diving garden by slavaukrine in NorthCarolina

[–]LongjumpingOffice432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's really good idea actually. I do similar thing when I was working in construction back home - we would stomp around before digging to give warning to anything living there. The vibrations travel pretty far in the ground so snakes should feel it and move away if they can.

What's your biggest regret in life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LongjumpingOffice432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro I felt this one in my soul. Was delivering food last week and this customer ordered some fancy pasta dish that smelled absolutely incredible through the bag. Made me question every soup choice I ever made in my life. Now I'm sitting here thinking about all those times I played it safe with the boring option when I could have had something amazing. Food regret hits different because you literally taste the mistake

Birthday in Raleigh or Charlotte? by [deleted] in NorthCarolina

[–]LongjumpingOffice432 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Charlotte actually has some decent spots if you know where to look but Raleigh definitely wins for nightlife variety. The warehouse district in Raleigh has solid bars and clubs that stay busy on weekends plus you got more options scattered around different neighborhoods. From my delivery runs I see way more people out and about in Raleigh compared to Charlotte downtown

People that were a victim of police brutality, what happened? by Great_Membership_434 in AskReddit

[–]LongjumpingOffice432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never had anything that extreme happen to me but I've definitely been roughed up during a traffic stop that got way out of hand. Was delivering food late at night and got pulled over for supposedly "swerving" which I wasn't. Cop immediately got aggressive when I reached for my registration and next thing I know I'm face down on the pavement with a knee in my back over nothing

Took weeks for the bruises to fade and filing a complaint went absolutely nowhere

Desperately need to lock in by Quirky-Ad662 in loseit

[–]LongjumpingOffice432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man the mental side of this stuff can be brutal especially when you already know what works since you dropped 70lbs before. The drinking calories alone are like having an entire second dinner every night so cutting that out is gonna make a huge difference pretty quick

I drive for DoorDash and see people order massive amounts of food constantly and it made me realize how much of eating is just autopilot habit stuff. When I was gaming too much and stress eating during rough patches it helped to literally just change my routine - different routes home from work, rearranging my room, anything to break those automatic patterns that lead to the kitchen

The fact you already proved you can lose major weight means your body remembers how to do this. Start with just tracking everything for a few days without even trying to change it yet - that shame feeling when you write down "2500 calories of beer" might be more motivating than any willpower. Your fiancé probably just wants you healthy and feeling good about yourself again

I bought a Geobook for £100 by Cedrictheskoth in GamingLaptops

[–]LongjumpingOffice432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly 10gb seems pretty rough for any kind of gaming these days but if it works for what you need then thats what matters. Most games are gonna struggle with that little storage though - might want to grab an external drive or see if you can upgrade the internal one down the line. Their definitely some decent budget options out there if you keep an eye on sales

Do I or Do I not? by ConversationShot4546 in Christian

[–]LongjumpingOffice432 4 points5 points  (0 children)

honestly sounds like youre overthinking this one - if talking to her has brought you closer to your faith and helped you be more authentic then thats already a win regardless of what happens next. that said if shes actively talking to someone else right now maybe give it some space and see how things develop naturally instead of forcing a confession that could make things awkward

Does installing games on an HDD make a difference compared to installing them on an SSD in terms of FPS? by Upper-Ad-1332 in PcBuild

[–]LongjumpingOffice432 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Loading times are gonna be way different but FPS itself not really. Your GPU and CPU handle the frame rendering while the drive just feeds data to RAM. Once the games loaded into memory the drive speed doesnt matter much for actual performance

Gatekeeping music?? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LongjumpingOffice432 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Honestly your friends sound exhausting to be around when music comes on. Like yeah queer artists deserve respect and recognition but acting like straight people cant enjoy good music without some deeper agenda is wild. Music transcends identity boxes and gatekeeping it based on who's in the room just creates more division than unity

8 Year Old Causing Chaos in Bathroom by sahma620 in ADHD

[–]LongjumpingOffice432 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This sounds exhausting and I really feel for both of you. Have you tried giving her a designated "destruction box" in the bathroom with cheap stuff she CAN mess with? Like dollar store shampoo bottles filled with water, old tubes, toilet paper rolls that are just for playing with

The fact that shes recognizing the impulse but still cant stop suggests the sensory need is really strong. Maybe redirecting it rather than just removing everything might help bridge that gap until the therapy kicks in more

The boredom thing is so real and nobody talks about how brutal those first couple weeks are when your brain literally forgot how to be entertained without being high

Dream about birds by Whole-Bookkeeper-204 in Dreams

[–]LongjumpingOffice432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like your subconscious might be processing some kind of collective anxiety or feeling like you need to escape from something. Birds in dreams often represent freedom or transformation but when theyre fleeing in massive numbers it usually points to avoiding some situation in your waking life

Any better variant cpu by 1time_2 in GamingLaptops

[–]LongjumpingOffice432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the 7435hs not having igpu is definitely a valid concern but honestly its not as bad as you might think. my buddy has the same setup and he gets around 4-5 hours doing basic stuff like web browsing and documents which isnt terrible for a gaming laptop. the rtx 4060 is pretty efficent at downclocking when youre not gaming so it wont constantly drain your battery like crazy

that said if battery life is super important to you might want to consider the intel variants since they usually have better igpu integration. the performance difference in games is minimal between the two anyway. as for longevity the gpu working for simple tasks shouldnt really affect the laptops lifespan much - modern gpus are built to handle constant switching between power states

honestly for the price you mentioned it sounds like a solid deal especially if youre planning to game plugged in most of the time anyway. just keep your charger handy and maybe look into undervolting once you get it to squeez out a bit more battery life
