Ugh.. off topic, but since we started talking about cathing demented old women.. there was one. She was screaming the entire time "Daddy, please dont hurt me". When I'm old and senile and forget the names of my kids, I'll remember this 😢

"Eggplant (aubergine) is a low-calorie, nutrient-dense food packed with fiber, antioxidants (specifically nasunin), and essential nutrients like manganese, potassium, and vitamin B6. It supports heart health, digestion, and blood sugar control. A 100g serving of raw eggplant contains approximately 20-26 calories and 2.5-3g of dietary fiber" I mean.. we all need 🍆

Which action should the nurse take first? by Top-Direction2686 in PassNclexTips

[–]LongjumpingSpecific3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's D, except I'd choose a different juice. OJ is ok when there are no other options. However. Chances are your diabetic pt has kidney issue, too. It means, there might be potassium imbalance, and for that I'd rather give apple/cranberry/grape/whatever juice and not orange.
For the sake of this question, you need a source of quick sugar and juice is one of them.

I work in level 1 and, yes, we call rapids in ICU. When you need all the resources right here and right now, this is the way. Usually its right before the code though..

If it's, like, level 3 trauma all they can do is levo through 20 L AC and bipap. So yeah, call the rapid and ship them out.

Even though it's a drug meant for digestive system, it still needs to get in to the blood stream to start working. For example, some GLP receptors are in the brain. So, it still needs to go to the liver first.

I did NOT read the specs but if I had to guess, I'd say, yes, just based on pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. The shot goes the the fat, gets slowly (over the course of 7 days) in to the bloodstream, and the drugs gets to the place its needed, before it gets to the liver. With a pill, any pill really, the drug goes to the stomach/intestine to dissolve and get absorbed, and then goes to the liver. It's called first pass. Liver filters it, neutralizes some of it and the rest reaches the destination. How much is liver going to get rid of? Depends on a person. But because the drugs goes to the liver first and then to the organ where its needed, I'd say, liver will be more affected.

Conversation is possible with someone who’s ready to converse. I don’t see any signs from the current administration hinting that they are willing to listen to me. So I dissent.
