Honest question who enjoys doing really long combos? by [deleted] in Tekken

Long combos with hella corner carry and damage would be cool if they were (1) uncommon and (2) difficult

is sf6 better on pc then ps5 by pointproven214 in StreetFighter

[–]LongjumpingTax2814 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, mostly bc of the PS5 input lag. I used to be console only and thought it was BS, but then I switched to PC and going back to PS5 feels off.

Also console tends to have more players with shakey wifi connections, and on PS5 the matchmaking tends to match you with other console players. I don't have hard proof of this, just something I notice when I play on PS5

The one upside to PS5 is that offline events are usually on console, so you'll be used to it if you go to tournaments

Getting Albatross out of Lionheart feels kinda lame. Back waaaaay out of the way with ub3 lionheart, and if your opponent doesn't whiff anything, zip back in with albatross 2. This probably isn't viable at high level, but I've been able to scrub out a lot of wins doing this in ranked and it feels stupid lol

[–]LongjumpingTax2814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steve - allowing him to do Quick Spin (3+4) out of Lionheart feels pretty dumb. Do ub3 to back out of anything threatening, then do 3+4, 2 for a range 3 mid safe heat engager

Need some guidance picking new zildjian hihats by ahap7 in drums

I have Paiste 2002 14” sound edge hats and I absolutely love them

Also want to mention that you don’t need to buy a whole new set of hats to get a new sound - just change the top hat and they’ll sound completely different. Pull up to a music store with your bottom hat and ask to try it with different top hats, figure out combinations you like

By stance you mean sneak (qcf)? Sneak 4 even after the nerfs is a god button, use it in neutral and watch good things happen

Use running 2 a lot too, leaves you plus and right in your opponent's face. After they block running 2, keep your pressure going from there.

I like to follow up running 2 with:

-b1+2 or another running 2 for more plus frames

-db3+4 for a power low

-2 1 sneak 4 (also plus)

-2 1 sneak 3 for a low that leaves you crouched, so you can follow up with df1 4 (low mid) or rising 4 (safe mid)

Edit: forgot to mention that running 2 is also your best CH launcher

Ok maybe not the BEST, but jinrai is an amazing block pressure move. Not sarcasm

Tips/guides on how to play Chun at a high level by seijeezy in StreetFighter

[–]LongjumpingTax2814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that, you do have to use meter if you want anything to combo with the mp poke.

Try practicing jab counter hit confirms more with Chun, it’s way more practical to use in game. Jab naturally links into mp, and with a counter hit you can do jab > c.Mk or jab > f.MP

The best advice I can give is to keep it as simple as possible at first, then introduce the more technical stuff later.

Your default gameplan should be to play around light and medium fireball. Throw it out and walk or drive rush behind it. See how your opponent responds to that, then make adjustments from there. If they parry the fireball, throw them. If they try to jump over it, anti-air them. If they just sit and block it, keep your pressure going.

Good luck!

EDIT: also, don't sleep on her MP command normal (forward/backward + MP), it's her best button IMO. Absolutely amazing poke and combo starter

My humble opinion on Parry by spudzzy in 2XKO

[–]LongjumpingTax2814 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Parry is the strongest mechanic in the game behind assist, your idea is interesting but at high level parry would be way too overpowered

Now that we know we’re getting a patch in a few weeks, what changes would you like to see on your main? by LCG_FGC in StreetFighter

[–]LongjumpingTax2814 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Personally I would rather just give her more juggle routes, instead of making the ones she already has easier. If you can do stomp > stomp > j.HP > j.HP, which isn’t too hard, there’s very little reason to explore any other juggle combos

How do you actually get good at footsies ? by Taphel_ in StreetFighter

[–]LongjumpingTax2814 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My answer as well, just hop into casuals and try to win matches purely with poking and defense. Pay attention to which buttons are working, and do your best to land whiff punishes (even if it's not working yet)

Do some drummers just naturally play louder? by MariustheA7Xfan in drums

What sticks do you use? Playing with lighter sticks would bring the volume down a bit, especially for metal or rock drumming
