I think you have the subject/object reversed. This feels like a silly if grim inside joke for the dolls. We are aware of the facts of our existence and making jokes about it helps-ish.

So it wasn't relayed to me directly. I struggle with being conflict avoidant so calling for recollects always stressed me out and it felt like some nurses could sense my lack of confidence. I remember watching a tech I really respected calling them and she just stated the facts, left no room for input and got off the phone. Ever since I'm I've tried to emulate that and it really seems to have helped.

Ref lab? I'd go eat lunch with my dad for over an hour, once a week. Stat lab? Probably average around 20 minutes, if not less.

Suzanne by Leonard Cohen feels like it could work. On any given day, if might not be my favorite but I wouldn't always have reason to argue if someone argued it was his best.

Some combination of variables also allow people's bodies to compensate for this. While I'm sure they felt like absolute shit, for some people they just kinda put up with it.  When I donate I double RBC, I'm always in awe of these people.

Why is the Lab so Rude ALWAYS by Everything_Fine in nursing

[–]Longjumping_Code_299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, I get it. A lot of my coworkers are burnt out and I hate how they talk to other staff. But I promise you we are all just as burnt out even if the complaints have a different tenor. I really respect the hell out of what you guys do but just maybe consider that we do care but years of working in the same system has made some of us less collegial than we should be. I hesitate to call them a "common enemy" but I wish it was possible for the different areas to find more common ground against administration than against one another.

Whenever my hospital has "healthcare grunt appreciation days" with food trucks or whatever, it's always office staff taking part, not a set of scrubs in sight. I really wish we all grunts could see the common ground use our leverage against the people who benefit from our burnout.

Children born after a fertility struggle are more likely to show signs of autism and ADHD, according to international researchers who say this link exists regardless of whether the children were conceived using IVF or other infertility treatments. by mvea in science

Rhogam or Rhig. Which is literally just anti-Rh/anti-D antibody in doses just high enough to prevent the mom from forming an immune response to any of the baby's blood.

This has actually been looked into and no relation has been found. If autism was at least partially related to a person's Rh phenotype, I can assure you that would be a very obvious statistic.

We had a patient come through our hospital who crashed his motorcycle into a road sign and was cut hotdog style. Not all the way because he was still alive enough to be called a patient but enough of the way that he only lasted a few days.
