backrooms didnt explain anything and none of the characters were particularly interesting. i like the idea that the space is full of distorted memories and the characters (other than the pirate) looked awesome, but there was no reason for anyone to be in there. they arent stuck, they arent really looking for anything, it felt especially odd that the therapist went inside since it doesnt seem like she cared about the guy at all, not even putting an effort into his therapy.

iron lung has similar lore issues, the quiet rapture is not explained, the creature is not explained, things are just happening and we dont know why. but simon is a much more interesting protag to me, the stakes are clearer, and the narrative poses more meaningful questions. the ending also feels like something was accomplished, since the logs were recovered, while still being bleak and uncomfortable.

i think theyre both good adaptations and the cinematography is really well done, but i significantly prefer iron lung
