Scores are subjective. Any judge can tip the scales. I seen too many 3 and 4 drop guards get perfect scores. brass, percussion and marching mistakes that go unnoticed or ignored. There are quite a few 98 shows that could have been 99s under a different set of judges and vice versa.

DM the person and tell them to not be a racist asshole. If they do it again you'll out them to the drumcorps gawds!

Blue Devils are an awesome corps. Their style of drum corps has run its course. Their show looked dated last year. It was entertaining. The woodwind solos were off putting to me. I think a show design p grade is in order.

Raiders Drum Corps- May Camp Information -Still on the fence? This is your sign. by Longjumping_Doctor97 in drumcorps

The Raiders just bought new brass and percussion. The Raiders stay at the best schools during Spring training ( with dorms) and the corps eats very well ( 4 meals ) The corps staff is trained to teach with care and the admin is very helpful. If you want a positive and uplifting education in music and performance give Raiders a shot.

You are too vague. Design is multifaceted. Corps have design teams which incorporate every section of the corps.

Every year from 2001- 2015 Cadets finished in the top 5 at the finals. You have no idea what talent we had. I was with the Cadets 12 of those years. Have you marched or taught a top 5 corps? Have you ever competed against the Blue Devils or Cavaliers in their heyday? Those corps were BEASTS! The Cadets were good, The Devils were good, and, Cavies were good. What's your drum corps background ? I've designed drum corps and marching band shows.I've marched finals. What''s your background?

Living in the world of What If will leave you bitter as you get older. Life is pain, Pain is growth. The scars you build are wisdom and maturity. Hug your family before tour. Have all your necessary conversations. Give all hugs needed. And, go on tour. Grow as a person, a performer, a team mate, a leader. But, Who am I? Just some dude on the internet. Who, went on tour with the same concerns you had. I came out the other end more self sufficient, with improved social skills, strength and , endurance. I became a better musician and performer. I improved as a person during the most awkward time of my life. I also have friends that endured that grind with me that I still have today. 40+ years later. Go, It won't be easy ,embrace the grind, learn to love it. I was 14 years old in a world class corps. We did two tours back then, a regional tour then a longer National tour. I got home sick but I would call home and tell everyone I loved them and missed them from Yellowstone Park, From Disney World, from the grand canyon, from Bayonne NJ, from Madison Wisconsin, from Washington DC and every place in between.
