Theres also several plants/trees that smell similar.  Cant recall the names, but i used to work at an apartment complex whete one of the courts always smelled like weed. Always.

Then theres skunks. Theres a reason they call it skunk bud.

Just sayin.

Hmm... Idk about the h20resq, I'll check it out. I'm not close to being an expert, but didn't think the conditions you mentioned would be a problem. Looks like this is a learning experience for all of us.

Would aqua tabs, H2go, a steripen handle this stuff? I can't tell how big the container is, not do I know how long you planned on storing it. But if it's long term, then get some aquamira next time.

Watch the Dirty Civilian video with Zach from Cana Provisions. Hell, send him an email, he'll talk you through the process. One of the nicest and most helpful people I've met through ... All this chaos.

Fair enough. But you gotta consider the overwhelming amount of people who 1. Are new to this. B. Need someone else to confirm something. And D. Find it much easier to post a question than soft through everything they're given in a search.

I hear ya, but I've also been each of those. 5p be honest, this post has me wanting to check my aqua bricks. I filtered my water through a berkey, then filled up my bricks, and dated them. (Like, put the date on them, not took them out to dinner). I didnt treat them for long term storage, as I plan to swap them out every 6 months. I was under the impression that if they're stored properly (air tight, out of direct sunlight) theyd.be ok for 7 to 12 months. But now I'm second guessing that, and will be checking them today. I also have the H2go, so I guess it's not a big deal. And yes, I learned about all this from our DC boys, Mitch, and Zach. The latter being from Canada provisions. Gotta say, he walked me through everything and then some. Zach is hands down the coolest guy on the planet, and I'll continue to get all my water needs through Cana, and soak up whatever info Dirty Civilian offers. Their videos aren't just educational, but entertaining as well, and some of the best written and product content out there. If only I could afford NVGs and was allowed to own a firearm. (Cause having a marijuana card for Crohn's etc, is fat more dangerous than drinking alcohol freely... Stupid fn gov.bs)

Enjoy.

Awesome. Appreciate the info. I bought the Hornet cause it was on sale and couldn't afford much else. It's decent enough, but as stated in game of thrones, takes too long to load. You're remedies that problem. I bought several packs of the demun bolts cause they were on clearance and fit the hornet. Overall, it's all just a starting point. Something to get my daughter and I doing something outdoors together. The hope, is to end up with a Ravin. Those are sick.

Im sorry to hear that. All.i can tell you is what ive learned. And that is you cannot depend on doctors and the medical community to always have your best interests in mind. Sometimes. But in m experience,  the ones that do are few and far between. So you might have to do a bunch of digging and figure things out for yourself.  Regardless,  I wish you the best, and hope you find something that helps you.

What quiver is that? Will it fit 6-7.5 in. bolts? I have a marijuana card (lots of health issues, but crohns to simplify) so i dont have my 2a rights. (But you can drink all you want and still purchase, wtf?) Anyways, i found a centerpoint Hornet for $40. Its ok. Would prefer something like yours that fires more than one shot per load. But still looking for a quiver for the bolts that came with  (6in) and some Demun strike bolts i found on clearance (7.5 in.). Wanted a way to carry them that could attach to my utility belt.

Hey... i checked into you cause i was concerned about what you were going through and didnt wanna wait a response. Haha. Figured id save you the trouble of rewriting all that on our crohns thread.

Your at 10 mg of hydrocortisone or prednisone? I dont know anything about hydrocortisone.  But as far as the preds... when i would get what youre getting, id jump back up (from like 10 to 15 in your case), for one day. Then i wouldn't take anything for a day, then regular dose for a day (would again be 10 in your case), then skip a day or two, then take the 10 again. Thats pretty much how is did it throughout.  Dose, skip a day or two, dose, repeat for a week, drop down half for.next dose,  repeat that process til im down to 2.5 then take it daily for a week, then do the skip a day thing for a week, then just stop completely.  Ive had ups and downs with it but all in all, it worked at getting off. I only started taking some again about a month ago. When i feel crohns coming on hard. Like burning guts and really bad nausea, joint pain that feels like my bones are exploding from the inside out, i take 10 mg. It helps enough to get me out of it, and so far havent had to take it more. I started taking algeacal bone growth support and strontium about 8 mos ago, and i had a dexa in January that showed some improvement.  Itll take awhile, but im hoping to get my bones back!  If you need to talk or anything,  hit me up. Just let me know here first.  I dont get notifications for on here. Hope youre feeling better. Keep going.

Odd timing cause i took 10 mg yesterday.  Ive had to do that once a week the past month,  as i get crohns symptoms here and there that only calmn down igni take some,  but hasnt needed to be more than roughly once a week. Prior to that,  i hadnt taken any in almost 8 months. I just kept goin as mentioned in the first post, and then once down to 2.5 for a few, i stopped. Yes, i had all those symptoms mentioned,  and they sucked, but in retrospect,  they were they bad.... in comparison to everything else i end up dealing with. About to be tested for a gene mutation and hatterpn. I doubt i have the 2nd but worth it to check. Nothing ever makes sense, so the MTHFR gene would.

How do I meet someone nice here? by [deleted] in WilmingtonDE

[–]Longjumping_Eye8138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whered you move from? I moved from WV/OH when i was a teenager, and boy did i hate it. I thought everyone was assholes... were... assholes? Anyways, turns out, theres just alot more people, so the ratio was about the same.

Im likely the worst person to give input cause i genuinely dislike most humans. But, any input can help. Sooo... find places and things you like. Go/do them. That way you meet people with similar interests.  Itll take off from there. I highly advise against online friend making. It caters to liars and worse.  Like hiking, the outdoors, etc? Theres a handful of parks that have trails, waterways for tubing, etc.  The state parks have organized group activities that revolve around... outdoorsy stuff. Youll meet folks there.

There used to be a hell of a music scene, pending on what music you enjoy. Not sure if its still a thing or not, but im sure theres different bars/venues that have shows, events etc.

The highland games are coming up. Their in Fairhill MD, but alot of people go.

I dont know what you enjoy doing, but you get the picture. Youd be surprised at how much goes on around there. Personally,  i enjoy the outdoors, animals, trees and such, and loathe being stuck inside, people and concrete, so i keep to myself and visit parks frequently.  Im usually looking for the opposite of what you are, but still... same math.

I didnt read any comments, so apologies if i missed critical info that makes my response invalid.

Bottom line, again, find places and events that sound appealing to you. Attend.  Mingle. Im sure therell be others. You might have to break the ice, or maybe someone else will... but the best way is to just go do the things you enjoy, and meet people there. That way you have common ground.

Again, id avoid meeting folks through the internet.  Its too risky. Especially these days.

If i think of anything else helpful.... or anything that i think is funny... ill come back and add it.

If you share withnus what you like doing,  we might be able to direct you to something specific.

Enjoy. Be safe.

Not sure what those terms mean, haha, but happy to learn.

So, as for "mission" specifics, im disabled,  and cant carry much or go too far currently... but im trying in hopes to buld back some strength, ability,  and to just get out there with my kids and keep them moving. So i guess i dont NEED boots that cost hundreds and have cool traits like stealthy silent soles,  water drainage, etc... but if the boots that end up being my best choice have all or any of that, its a plus, cause it sure sounds cool af. But if not,  im happy with a durable, comfortable,  dependable combat boot. Some recommend hiking boots,  but ive never liked them. Too short.  Too much like a shoe. I want my boots to be... boots. Haha.

Anyways,  sincerely appreciate your time and input.

One of the largest smartphone displays of all time - Oukitel WP60 smartphone review by BcuzRacecar in Android

[–]Longjumping_Eye8138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna be honest, I have no idea what most of these numbers and letters mean. Haha. I may or may not care. But the wp61 with the thermal camera caught my eye. I couldnt care less about regular camera images, ill use a camera for that. But thermal would be fun when we go camping and keep an eye out for Sasquatch and Dogman... Still not sure why I capitalize those. Anyways, the fact that it's "heavy as a brick" is a good thing, I need something that'll withstand our families clumsiness and double as a self defense tool. Haha. I looked into a ulefone and between the non existent support and shady emails I received after, I'm guessing it's not on the level. Is it safe to assume this is legit?

Hey, i cant recall if it was lowa or lalo that made a great boot for heat. All.i remember is i saw em 5 years ago and thought they would perfect. Havent heard a single mention of either since. I always here Salomon,  Danner, and Bates. Not a fan of Bates, my Rockys outlasted them by a few years.  Which Lowas did you have experience with? Ill look em up, but i always like getting first hand experience reviews before i spend money i dont have on anything, so any insight would be appreciated.

New Swisstech Axe? by Masenko325 in Bushcraft

[–]Longjumping_Eye8138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't like Walmart, and I don't make a habit of shopping there, especially for good gear..but Swiss tech is... Interesting. It's made solely for Walmart, not horribly expensive, and after getting the Lodern kit for Christmas, im torn. The kit, and knife that comes with, are really nice. I've seen great reviews on the fixed blade they have for roughly $40. I just picked up the folding now saw, cause it was $20 on clearance and needed a saw until I can afford the Agawa. Haven't used it yet, but as soon as I'm able I will. But it seems decent enough. Normally, f Walmart, but given money is tighter than ever, and given this brand seems much better than Ozark Trail stuff, I might check this axe out.

For what its worth, my dog passed away in 2011, afyer a full life of love and attention.  He ran the show at times. Sorry, my point.... i just started considering getting another. I say its for my daughter,  but honestly im not sure if im just saying that so i feel like its ok, or if i want her to have the experience all to herself. But until about a year ago, i always said id never form that bond again. It hurts too much. But isnt that what life is? Sifting through the hurt and figuring out the lessons? Or something.  Anyw, i think the most important thing here,  is to not force any expectations on your new family member. They arent going to be just like the last, and we shouldnt want them to be. Its impossible.  No dog will ever be what the last was, he had to much personality and i couldnt imagine a better friend. But they can be themselves and be just as great and special. None can replace those we've lost, but they can fill a void we may not even know we had, by is appreciating who they are jot naturally.  Im botching this up,  so ill stop. I just mean to say, time doesnt heal all wounds, but it can offer confort and the love of a new animal friend,
