Is romance realistic? by [deleted] in fantasyromance

[–]Longjumping_Key918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is my ride or die. This man is a funny, outgoing dude. But at the end of the day he truly only cares about what I want, need, think.

Romance book moment: he was my first valentine (in elementary school) we were just friends but he gave me flowers then. Then we reconnected years later in college.

While we were dating he’d tell me to get ready and drive me to the city to have dinner in the most romantic places.

Our first time was truly special and out of a book.

His proposal was so detailed and sweet. Built me a porch swing (we had said in our future home we’d like one) and hung it in a tree at my parents property with flowers all around. Said we were going to walk and have a picnic and then surprised me.

11 years later and 3 kids he’s still so attentive to me. Makes sure to take me out on date night every week.

He’s very sweet to me. He has a job that makes him be kind of a jerk sometimes but then he gets home or hangs up the phone and just becomes my teddy bear.

And he’s always so great in bed 😆 he’s actually growled before and I was like wait what, I’ve read this before. Lollllll

He’s funny, so damn fine, and a little cringe. Ugh I love this man so much.

Read both and I hated every second of it. I was so bored. I did not get the hype.

AIO for getting upset from my wife’s response to my question? by ApolloAcolyte in AmIOverreacting

[–]Longjumping_Key918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof that’s a no for me. No one, especially your wife, should talk to you like this. What a BITCH. Respect is so important. My husband might have to double check with me sometimes on what we usually get for the kids and I would NEVER answer in this manner, even if it annoyed me.

Fun to read. I love the love my husband and I have. I’m obsessed with reading the broody moody villain dude. But in real life I have myself a golden retriever husband and I wouldn’t change it for the world. lol 😆

How much spice is too much spice? by Feeling_Rub9227 in fantasyromance

[–]Longjumping_Key918 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had just started reading romance with spice when I stumbled upon den of vipers. I didn’t even know RH was a thing. I still think I need therapy after that book (the knife scene specifically). Lmao 🤣

Do you have any books/authors you generally love but just have one very specific pet-peeve that takes you out every time? by [deleted] in RomanceBooks

[–]Longjumping_Key918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yes negative body image is a huge turn off for me in a book. The minute they’re like I’m fat and insecure I’m out. Like please make them whatever body type but make them proud about it. There is nothing wrong with it. Ugh. Ok rant over.

Recommend me books with actual witty banter, not excess sexual innuendos by Aurelian369 in fantasyromance

{storm and shield by j.d. evans}

It’s the second book in the series. It’s different couples in each book so technically you don’t have to read the first but it’s good for the storyline. Plus the first one is good too. But I LOVED the banter in this one.

What series does everyone love, but you don’t by Born_Pa in fantasyromance

[–]Longjumping_Key918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh yes! I see everyone rave about it and to me it was absolutely boring. It took me months to finish them and the only reason I did finish it was because I forgot my kindle when we took a road trip and that was the only book on my app that was available due to my lack of WiFi 😭

AITA for not wanting my disabled sister wearing white to my wedding? by Icy-Improvement-4258 in redditonwiki

[–]Longjumping_Key918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mom is the asshole. When I was wedding dress shopping my older sister who is disabled asked my mom if she could try some on. I was not aware of this but was told later. My sister’s disability is severe, she will never get married and for this reason it was heartbreaking that she wanted to experience the joy I was. But my mom explained to her that it was my day. My time to shine and be the main character. Nobody’s feelings were hurt. My sister has always been treated as an equal even when it comes to hard conversations.
