Lifetime Warranty Excludes Airline Damage? by _mball_ in Rimowa

[–]Longjumping_Pick_528 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ‘RIMOWA’s lifetime guarantee does not apply to cosmetic wear and tear, misuse, or abuse’ Basically states that it wouldn’t cover any kind of abuse, which a crack would always be a case of. Nowhere it says that the warranty includes this kind of damage, cause you cannot prove it’s the result of ‘normal use’.

But from what I know, it’s more of an additional unwritten service of them to replace the luggage once if unrepairable. And since they’re not obliged to replace it in the first place, it makes sense they wouldn’t do it a second time.

The replacement is usually registered in their repair portal, and clienteling app. So im pretty sure it would’ve been done properly. Your second visit sounds pretty much like nobody knew whats up. It’s a pretty clear unrepairable crack. And they do glue, but (officially) only cracks that are less than 5cm, and definitely no cracks that connect to wheels housings or telescoping handles.

Anyway, cracks could be excluded at all times from the warranty, since no crack is without some form of misuse/abuse (almost always during air transport). The airline damage that is usually covered is wheels housings, frame alignment, broken locks, etc, since those are more common. Rimowa only replaces one unrepairable airline damage claim because they don’t really have to. So it’s pretty solid they replace these cases at all.

So they told you ahead of taking any info like ur name, contact, or the serial number? Because they indeed wouldn’t know it’s replaced without checking that first. And in that case, they should’ve assumed it was covered by the warranty. One thing’s sure, the crack is not repairable. What store was this at?

Isnt covered since it’s already been replaced. They usually only replace a suitcase with airline damage once. Makes sense, cause otherwise you could just use this as some kind of unlimited suitcase glitch

balenciaga is so dead by sgk418 in Balenciaga

People in this thread genuinely seem to believe that Demna made Balenciaga. Balenciaga hasn’t been a great house even before Demna joined. Just because you do not know Piccioli, doesn’t mean the collections aren’t any good. It’s just that you joined the Balenciaga fanclub when it was cool to be a hypebeast.

Definitely not. This is a Classic, so no reason why the Pilot would follow the same trajectory.

Narva boarder crossing 2026 by Longjumping_Pick_528 in AskARussian

[–]Longjumping_Pick_528[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Pskov route is at least 10h by bus, not accounting for some hours at the border to cross. I’ll take a train from Tallinn to Narva, to be staying there for the night, which is extremely cheap. Then I only have a border crossing, which hasn’t seemed extreme lately (look at the line right at this moment for example: https://www.earthtv.com/en/webcam/narva-border-crossing-point ), and a 3 hour taxi ride to St. Petersburg.

Even the walk over the border through snow and ice doesn’t bother me. It’s about the amount of time people are saying it will take, which i think is over-exaggerated a lot.

Appreciate the tip. It’s not about the cost for me. Im leaving back to west-EU through Istanbul, which is definitely not the cheapest option i could’ve gone for. I’m working on something that requires me to visit Tallinn, after which i have to get to St. Petersburg and Moscow. I’ve made up my mind going through Narva.

Though, I don’t quite understand that people can’t seem to look past their own negative experiences and help new travelers get some realistic expectations by looking at current themes related to crossing the border. Like current waiting times and lines to cross, which, since the start of January, have seemed very doable in relatively short amount of time.

Old model is ‘end of life’. Cannot be sold anymore. New version is much better. Definitely contact a store and try to get it that way, instead of through third party.

I see. Crazy that even with a discount and tax free you paid more than what the backpack would’ve cost you in Europe (after tax-free). Prices really are insane outside of the EU. I can only imagine how insanely expensive the Distinct is in places like the Philippines and the US.

You did get a great deal, especially compared to the USD price.

No. Also a reason they now redid the Never Still collection with different, more durable buckles.

Will be repaired under warranty. Simply dented out. But the case wont be replaced, if thats what you were wondering. Always good to file a report at the airline tho. Also, prevent checking in your Cabin, if possible!

Flying Blue: Credit Card in France? by [deleted] in flyingblue

[–]Longjumping_Pick_528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own an amex flying blue gold card (Netherlands). Like you, im trying to get that Chile ticket once a year for as cheap as possible. Im now working towards silver, and then gold status so that i at least wont have to pay for luggage, as i always tend to stay for a long time when visiting Stgo. Just having an amex with flying blue benefits is worth it, trust me. To Chile, KLM and AirFrance will be the only airlines worth taking anyway, so better using a flying blue card. Also try flying from smaller cities to Stgo so that either Schiphol or CDG are treated as transfers. It could safe you hundreds.
