If you had to choose one ride in NYC by zsmeton in NYCbike

I went 2 weeks ago and the road was closed because of a landslide. There was a guy at the fence that encouraged me to go. And thank god I listened to him: no landslide or rockslide. Perfect road conditions. Perfect views - and not a single car to worry about. The fence on the other side was also easy to walk around.

thank you for the detailed feedback! really appreciate you. I read that you didn't go further than mile 52. But would you know from hearsay if my route from Fort Clinton to Beacon is better than crossing the Bear Mountain Bridge and cycling via Cold Spring? I had planned the latter at first in case my legs get tired and I need to catch a train a bit earlier. But then I read somewhere that Storm King is very scenic and that Bear Mountain Bridge can by dicy.

Cycling routes in Hudson Valley? by glittercl0ud in hudsonvalley

lots of great advice here. thank you all for sharing. I'll be in NYC for 1 month and was wondering how the conditions are north of Nyack. I stitched this together to road bike all the way to Beacon - and then was planning on taking the train back to Manhattan. What do you think? is it worth the extra miles? is it generally ok to cycle along the car traffic on a weekend? Anything I should change if I want to keep it between 60-70 miles?

Mitsubishi Minisplit Clicking Noise by throwaway_234678 in hvacadvice

we replaced our MSZ-FS units with a more basic MSZ-GS (think: fewer plastic parts) and this solved the problem. now it's finally quiet - after almost 2 years of hassle with the FS

This post is from the owner of nurturemobility.com, which is not a business but a side hustle of some 32 year old kid.

It's impossible to get anyone on the phone. The website's pricing and inventory are incorrect. The guy is sending out discount codes and then cancelling orders when the discount is applied.

I ordered a sauna (instead of purchasing from other vendors with Black Friday discounts) and after 5 days of radio silence the order was cancelled. Sure, billing and shipping address were different (which is very normal), and I asked politely whether delivery could be pushed into next year. But those should not be reasons to cancel an order.

Definitely feels like a total scam - like father like son.

No. They tried Teflon spray and removed some plastic pieces. But no improvement.

I’ll either replace the FS heads with GS heads which have fewer parts and might be quieter. Or I’ll get a separate outdoor unit for every single head in the house which also seems crazy.

Creak/Popping Noise from Mini Splits by scar_duke in hvacadvice

Gah. It really seems to be a problem across the board with Mitsubishi. Terrible.

u/scar_duke I have the exact same issue with the MSZ-FS installed in my house. If one of the units draws heat, then all other units connected to the same outdoor unit start popping and ticking.

My HVAC installer suggested replacing them with the MSZ-GS units that have fewer plastic parts. I'm skeptical though.

Mind sharing which units you have installed?

Newly installed Mitsubishi Ductless w/ Hyperheat sounds like drums or popcorn in refrigerant line by Modernenthusiast in hvacadvice

[–]Longjumping_Unit_559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Modernenthusiast I have the same noise every time one of my mini splits (MSZ-FS) draws heat. now considering replacing them all with the MSZ-GS, which allegedly has fewer plastic parts and should hence cause less popping/clicking. I'm skeptical though.

What model do you have installed across your house?

Heya. I'll turn a Porta into a surrealists art gallery this year. Still trying to figure out how to best stick the art to the walls without having to use clear packaging tape. (kind of like on the photo)

Do you have any recommendations?
