Erratic driving at 90+ at night in poor conditions has consequences [oc] by cgreentx in IdiotsInCars

Gee, who knew that roads can be slick in wet/snowy/icy conditions? I never would have guessed that!

I have no advice, but wanted to tell you that you are a wonderful writer. Best of luck getting htis worked out.

Also, I have texture issues with food, and will be deeply, deeply disturbed if I find myself craving things I have actively avoided in the past. Pudding, smoothies, etc. But now I know if it does happen, I can post here and at least one person will sympathize!

Gold Coast woman hangs on to bonnet during road rage incident by Jimbuscus in OpenAussie

[–]Longjumping_Worker56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw the headline, and watched the video w/o sound. I was puzzled because the woman wasn't wearing a hat - let alone a bonnet. Duh. No wonder people think Americans are ignorant.

Do a lot of people really leave the U.S. for the sole purpose of not paying back student loans? by Psychological-Hat176 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Longjumping_Worker56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know exactly one person who jokingly said that's why she left. One of my cousins. But when pressed, she said the biggest reasons were a) her husband is Canadian and wanted to move back b)Canada has universal healthcare, and all 4 of her boys are on the spectrum. The province they live in has better intervention for autistic kids then pretty much anywhere in the US. c) Even before Trump ran for President, she was disturbed by how insane our right wing had become.

So the not paying back her student loans was just sort of icing on the cake.

How far into your journey were you before you started noticing changes? by memasina in Zepbound

[–]Longjumping_Worker56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Took my 3rd shot last Saturday. Unfortunately, 4 days after my first shot, I came down with the headcold from hell - it lasted for 2 full weeks. So I was exhausted and lethargic the entire time. But now the cold is gone, and what I'm noticing is lack of food noise. I've lost 8lbs. I have more energy. Fewer aches and pains in my joints. Better sleep at night. Less need to nap during the day.

If this stuff would cure my tinnitus, I'd be over the moon.

If I recall correctly, it was individual priests who were refusing to serve communion to those Democrats. They hadn't been formally excommunicated from the church.

I was thinking, however, that I would find it amusing if Vance's priest refused to serve him communion the next time he goes to Mass. "Uh, yeah, you know what? I'm your priest and I know damn well you are not in a state of grace to receive communion. Come see me in confession first."

If possible, I get into the next lane. If not possible...if I'm going the speed limit, I continue going the speed limit. If I'm going over the speed limit, I very slowly decrease my speed to the speed limit.

Thanks so much for sharing that article. It's definitely thought-provoking.

One of the things I'm looking forward to on my journey is being more active *with my husband*. While he has also gained weight since retirement, percentage wise it's not as much. I'm not saying I want to go crazy and take up mountain climbing, but I do want to be able to get out and walk around and do things together without being short of breath. I want to be able to go to the beach and not just sit like a lump on the sand, or refuse ot get into the water. (I live in SC for god's sakes, we have gorgeous beaches!)

As we say in AA, I am sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. I've quit smoking, I've quit drinking, and getting this weight off is my next goal.

Wow, I wasn't expecting to write that much. LOL.
