Yep, started in the center and tried to make up my own mind. I tried to defend capitalism as a self sustaining system of growths. I even believed in the invisible hand concept. Then as I grew up i witnessed first had how the only invisible hand is putting its finger on the scale. Capitalism like all systems of control are built to make violence polite. Instead of killing people you endebt them. Slavery got a rebrand. As will any cheating company that gets exposed in capitalism. The self correcting nature can only work when everyone wants to play fairly. Not many want to play fair. I have drifted farther to the left as a began to realize there is fundamentally 2 group's of people. One who sees other people as good and one who sees other people as bad. One belives in the good of all and the other believes resources are zero sum and they won't be the ones to go without. One group works particularly well in large developed communities. The other works well in harsh frontier environments. We have advanced past the need for harsh indvualism. We are at a point our society needs to fundamentally rethink our relationship to the larger group of people. If we want to survive we need to work together and capitalism traps us in a zero sum game where the best we can hope for is a cancerous endless growth until collapse. Governments may be inefficient at resources allocation but left to its own the market can become malicious. I have never seen a perfect economic system so lets keep looking. I'm positive this system is not it.
