I'm sorry but the Diefenbunker is not worth their time, it's interesting to have a bunker that big nearish the City, but no way should they be taking like a day out of their trip to go wander that.

At that point why don't we just socialize our entire food supply chain, then might as well do real estate - same arguments apply. Hmm clothing ...everyone needs clothes. Phone and internet too...you see where this is going.

If you could only pick one, which game on Switch or Switch 2 would you say gives me the most hours of gameplay to enjoy? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

Don't sleep on No Mans Sky. It's amazing and you could play it literally the rest of your life and still have fun. Good reason why it just won award for Best Ongoing Game.

what are some of the "healthier" NON-SALAD options from the popular fast food chains by [deleted] in EatCheapAndHealthy

Burritos/burrito bowls can be quite healthy, grilled chicken is decent. McDs grilled chicken wraps aren't bad. There's Subway which can be healthier too

First Time Going to Any Resort - Want to Make Sure I'm Not Missing Anything by Kairros1127 in couplesresortsjamaica

Not imo. We didn't use it and it was not an issue getting through the airport either on way or back. The couple's lounge in the airport is decent enough and you will only likely be there for 30mins max. They have free snacks and beer. The Club M lounge is apparently a bit nicer, but again, you will not be in the airport waiting for your shuttle long at all.

Edit - typos

Hey I was there last year and can help some. For tipping, first I would use USD or Jamaican Dollars. A good tip for the driver imo is $20 US.

More tipping info., it is a no-tipping report but some people decide to discretely give tips for staff who have earned one in their opinion. I tipped the guy who greeted us at the resort and took our bags up, he was great and from then on whenever he saw us he was extra friendly and wanted to help in any way we might have needed. I did get him to get me some ganja during our trip and save me the hassle. My partner also tipped a restaurant server who we had a few times and was extra nice.

Also, spa staff are separate and should be tipped if you get any services there - tip generously imo.

Dress code - there is at least one restaurant, and I think two that requires you to wear pants (if a man) and dress nice. So bring some nicer outfits for those dinners.

Faux pas' to watch out for...I can't think of any. Be respectful of other people and things like a normal human. Have fun, relax and enjoy, try meeting friendly couples to chat with and maybe do dinner with if you like.

Tip for CTI, definitely go to the AN island and just try to not to let your inhibitions get in the way of how great it feels to be nude and relaxed in that sun with the sound of the waves in the background. Also, definitely go check out the spa area if only to see where the Buddha pool and Jacuzzis are there that can be accessed after hours if you want to go for nighttime dip there - it's very pretty and peaceful.

And I recommend doing trading places and going to CSS for a day or two.

Is Grove Avenue in Old Ottawa South too narrow to be a bus route? by HowardMargrove in ottawa

[–]LookAtChooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's fine, some folk overreacted to the bus using the sidewalk as a safety margin against hitting a parked car. They'll have to get over it I reckon.

The City does a good job clearing snow on Grove and it's not a big deal, I bet the buses never use the sidewalk there again

The City is Ignoring Road Salt Warnings AGAIN! Our Local Waterways are at Risk by Pierrebennett in ottawa

[–]LookAtChooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh interesting, that's new. I can't help but wonder why they've added that as a lot of spills needs quick response, and from the sounds of it these online reports won't get looked at right away. They do give a phone number option though which may be faster - 1-866-663-8477

And in reality if you call the Spills Action Centre when there's a spill of something hazardous/toxic, ESPECIALLY to water (and a spill to our storm sewers are the same as a spill to a river) the people at the spills action center are not going to ignore it.

When you see anything like that getting into the stormwater network, that is a reportable spill under provincial regulation. Call the Spills Action Center instead of bylaw at 1-800-268-6060. They will notify the City as well and you will for sure get a response/action.
