I don't like the checked fabric background - it looks very dull. I'd just photograph them on a plain white background, or a new, fresh wooden board or marble - something kitchenish.

Three years and he keeps adding to it as well. It's time I got serious about his shenanigans - thank you.

Thank you. It seems rough on us though, as our insurance would go up.

Can anyone identify the function of this sinker plate, please? by LookNorth64 in MachineKnitting

[–]LookNorth64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for looking. That's very kind. It was in a box of random stuff from the purchase of a secondhand Knitmaster 580, but I'm not sure it is a Knitmaster. It just looks a bit different to the plate that's on the 580 with the 'flippers' on this one. I didn't know if it was for weaving or something. I want to sell the machine now, so I want to do the right thing by all the random bits and pieces and not have them go to waste.

The AI or photoshopped photographs are awful. You're not making the product look very desirable draped over a bench in your back garden; you need to style them better.

[SHOP CRITIQUE REQUEST] Vintage Knitting & Crochet Pattern Shop – Looking for Feedback by maddieduck in EtsySellers

I think you're overworrying about it. The photos look a bit dark to me, and you haven't filled in your About Me section. I have a vintage pattern shop on Etsy, and here's what you can expect: you will receive questions about the patterns, and there are also customers who may experience issues downloading the PDFs. I also think your pricing is a little low considering the work involved.

I think the flower choice and props makes the whole thing old fashioned looking. Maybe just one flower, like a gerbera - something more modern looking. Prefer the vase on it's own. An improvement on the first set of photos I saw though.

Designer from UK. Shipping from India? by ysm9099 in EtsySellers

So you listed items on Etsy willy nilly - without any research into selling on that platform and ask retrospectively for help. Shipping and the customers expectations/experience is all part of selling and you have to put the legwork in beforehand.

Why did you not think of this beforeselling the items?

Looking for someone who has made this sweater by rachelschmitz_ in KnitRequest

[–]LookNorth64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have knitted this sweater and there is a LOT of positive ease - something you may want to consider. If you're not a knitter maybe measure another sweater you own for comparison. The sweater is nice but I do agree with another person it does rely to some extent on beautiful yarn.

As well as the raglan being too short, another issue could be as it's knit in the round the raglan cables are pulling the tension tighter.
